NJ Advance Media's Darryl Slater believes there is a "75 percent" chance the New York Jets release defensive back Darrelle Revis.
What It Means:
Slater hedged by acknowledging that Revis could take a paycut or possibly switch to free safety, but ESPN's Rich Cimini has reported that it'll take a steep salary drop for the aging corner to remain with the team. The Jets would save at least $9.3 million against the cap by releasing Revis.
The Jets' secondary ranked fourth-worst this past season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.

I'd say the odds are at least 60% that he restructures and moves to FS.
No one is paying Revis more than $7-8 million a year on the open market anyway. So it's essentially either take a pay cut or retire.

That is the figure if he is released now -- has to be prior to 3/11, because he is due a $2MM roster bonus on the 11th. After the 11th his dead $$ goes up to $8MM. Not sure what the impact would be if he is designated a post June 1 cut. Here are his contract details from Spotrac:

Cut Revis, Marshall, and trade Sheldon etc because every one of them has an attitude and they're all miserable twats.
Give me players that play hard and have fun doin it with a smile on thier face like Snacks. Is it any surprise we have locker room issues with guys like Sheldon, Revis and Marshall on the team?

Brandon Marshall more than likely going to be cut by Jets
NJ Advance Media's Darryl Slater believes there is a "60 percent" chance the New York Jets release wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
What It Means:
The Jets would save $7.5 million against the cap by releasing Marshall prior to the final year of his deal. It's possible that he is traded, but the veteran receiver is unlikely to be back with Gang Green next season. They could also free up another $5.75 million by letting Eric Decker go.
Among the 41 receivers with at least 100 targets in 2016, Marshall's Reception Net Expected Points per target of 0.58 ranked sixth-worst. He also struggled to find the end zone, scoring just three times after turning in 45 combined touchdowns over the previous four seasons.

You knew NOTHING of Charone Peake and Robby Anderson, now we do, big thanks to having MARSHALL out there. Give him the money! Win some games, JETS! If they don't pay him (tough fairly durable for his workload) then they better get the next Antonio Gates. COMMON JETS
