It's irrelevant. If this dude is the real deal, he's the real deal regardless of school. Would you have taken Carson Palmer as our QB for the past decade? _ USC makes QB's look better than they are, see Leinart, Sanchez, Barkley and yes, I would of taken Carson Palmer who appears to be the exception. This USC is not your father's USC. The USC roster of today is no where near as stocked with NFL players like they were before all the sanctions. Besides using rationale of past failed pics to cross players of your list based on school is just silly. If Ohio State had a once in a lifetime LT-type pass rushing extraordinaire OLB, would you pass on him because of the Ghost? If Penn State had a Jimmy Graham type freak TE would you pass in him because of Kyle Brady? Darnold looks like the real deal. But let's see how he plays this year. _

I also agree that you have to judge the player a lot more then the school. While certain schools produce certain types of players more often, Fl and their RB V.S. their shitty Qb's, I do not think it is smart to ignore a prospect performing off the charts simply due to his school. I am all in on Darnold. I keep saying fuck 2017. 2018 is where it is at. Win 1 fucking game next year. Keep all our high picks in each round and go get the remaining talent we need to produce a NFL football team for more than a season or a few games. I am at this shit going on 48 years now. I am starting to feel like Hess. I want to win dammit.

I wish we would have just picked Cooks when we had the chance.

Calvin Pryor was picked over Cooks why exactly? I hate this franchise. Because this franchise sucks. Yet, some fans were happy about the pick. I was acreaming for Brandin but the idzik lovers were sticking up for Pryor. 3 years in, Pryor sucks and Brandin is a really good WR. Stupid fuvking franchise. Losers forever. I don't even care anymore. If they don't take fournette, and go D again, they are dumber than we could have ever imagined. Idiots.

Apparently the Pats offered #32 overall for Cooks and the Saints said no. Thank god they said no because Cooks would be amazing with all the pick plays they run.

Sheldon in Louisiana. What could possibly go wrong?

With Cooks only 23 the Jets should jump on it if all they have to do is give up Sheldon. Taking a 3rd rounder for Sheldon in the end is not a great deal. you are trading a first rounder to get another high performing first round in return is a no brainer.

This would make sense for Tennessee. They have two first rounders, plenty of cap space and need to add weapons for Mariota. Good fit.

Hoping for Darnold, and to a lesser extent, Rosen, in 2018, makes watching what will be a catastrophic 2017 season more palatable.

In fact, I'm sure it was 100% deference to Rex. I don't have any printed evidence to show you, but it was Rex (same is true for Sanchez, Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson, Coples, Milliner, even Ricvhardson) Rex got to throw his weight around in round 1 under both Tannenbaum and Idsuck. Those guys were pretty much ordered to defer to Rex's preference for the 1st round pick. You can choose to disbelieve if you want, but I am 100% confident that Woody ordered his GM to go with the Rex preference in round 1.
