Get it done Mac. We suck at drafting in later rounds so just do this. They're desperate for defense.
Marshall isn't lasting. Decker can't last a full season. Time for some speed on this offense.

You have to wonder why Saints would trade him.

You have to wonder why Saints would trade him. Maybe he accidentally murked someone during the mardi gras festivities so they helping him get out of town?

It does seem like a decent idea. Both guys are heading into the final year of their contracts, correct? Both have some risk around signing longterm. If the Jets could trade for Cooks and sign him longterm I'd drop Marshall immediately and roll with Cooks, Decker, and our young crop of 3 to 4 up-and-comers.

You'll trade a player who dictates how they produce like Richardson for a player that will only execute with above average qb play like cooks? Not worth the trade unless pieces are there that will help the team succeed. If they have a plan for qb already it wouldn't be that bad of a move.

Why tf would we drop our number one wr for a group of 2 and 3s? That's fuckin dumb, that's setting up the offense for failure. Last time they cut everyone people got fired

I'd rather get a pick for Sheldon even if it's a 3rd and try and sort the o-line, 3 3rds in this draft would be awesome.

Last time they cut everyone people got fired I'd rather get a pick for Sheldon even if it's a 3rd and try and sort the o-line, 3 3rds in this draft would be awesome. To be clear, I'd prefer a good draft pick rather than a player trade, but I'm not sure how high of a pick teams are willing to trade for Sheldon. From that standpoint, I'd rather get a known entity like Cooks, rather than a late round pick for Sheldon. Marshall is getting older and last year showed that he's becoming increasingly susceptible to injuries. I agree, yankees45, that right now Marshall is a #1 and overall a better WR than Cooks, but we're rebuilding and getting a younger guy is important. In 3 years there's a good possibly that both Marshall AND Decker aren't Jets anymore. That is why tf we consider this type of move. Young player, proven to be a very good (but not elite) WR, has serious speed and would be a good complement to Decker's possession-type WR skills. My one big concern is the $ it would take to sign him longterm. If his representatives even mention Antonio Brown's contract as a basis of comparison I'd step back.

At first glance, I thought the headline read, "Jets should trade Sheldon for Cocks"

trade him to a team that you could probably rape in the deal. in other words, dallas or cleveland.

Jets have about 15 things they should do and then maybe they make the playoffs.
