The Jets fired Pete Carroll to hire Rich Kotite. Think about that for a minute. I'm not saying that firing Rex Ryan to hire Doug Marrone will turn out THAT bad...but there's a 50% chance it might.

Rex is the best coaching candidate out there. Probably true. Quite honestly, if you told me the Jets would get a franchise QB I'd take literally anyone from that list of coaches. We can keep changing head coaches all we want but until we give the guy a non-Bottom 10 quarterback we ain't winning shit, mofos!

Do we really want a HC whose name is a homonym with goddammit? I'd like to see Mike OyVey hired for Special Teams coach.

Does anybody really feel that one of these guys will take us to our first SB in 45 years? Yep, that's the feeling that I just can't shake. None of the guys really excite me. But then again, what do I know?

But would anyone really be surprised if Rex goes on to success someplace else? It's Murphy's Law with the Jets. (This is becoming a SOJF rant) But only the Jets would sign Joe DiMaggio to hit homeruns, put a limp tree branch in his hands instead of a baseball bat, and then cut him after he was only hitting .180. Get the man a damn bat, don't blame the player. Oy Vey! Marrone!!!!

But then again, what do I know? In Doug Marrone I see a guy with a higher floor but a lower ceiling than Rex Ryan. A guy who will win 9 games and occasionally get a 1-and-done in the playoffs. Personally, I like having a guy who may string together some 6-win seasons with a shitty QB but occasionally make a deep playoff push and a hard charge at the AFC Championship while leaving Hall of Fame QBs in his wake. Sure, I'd like to see some sustainable success but for me it's all about winning a Super Bowl, just once, not about being a "pretty good" 9 win team every year.

I was a big Rex fan. I know the record but I liked having him as our coach. The guy gave a shit. Now we are going to end up with another Al Groh...

If we go with Doug, just think how many times you'll actually find a solid reason to say "Uff Marone!!"
At least I have that to look forward to
