Ironically Bucannon is exactly what Macc and Bowles would have liked Pryor to become.

It's pretty clear the jets want Adams and Maye to start and that Pryor will be on the roster the entire season. So, what do the Jets do with him?
I know the personnel for a 3-4 says you need big ILBs, but NTs have gotten so big and so good at eating up blockers that I think, you could try a system with 2 smaller ILB. I'd try some looks with Pryor in for Harris. Pryor is a shitty open field tackler, but he is a willing hitter, who is better closer to the line of scrimmage. Plus, he covers better than Harris, and it allows the Jets to disguise the D scheme with multiple interchangeable parts.

There are lots of dammits actually! Just look at the second half of Round 1 that year. I've circled in red the guys who are NOT having their 5th year options exercised (or have otherwise been released by their teams). Not only did the drafting of Calvin Pryor result in the Jets having to come back just 4 years later and use the #6 pick on a Safety, but look at how many other DBs taken after him are sticking with their teams. We know the Jets have been hurting for both S and CB. So many guys (Clinton-Dix, Verett, Denard, Bucannon, Roby, etc.) are proving to have been decent if not excellent selections. Sheezus Christmas!!! How in the hell did the Jets fuck this up so bad. Taking just about any of those 5 guys would have been better. NOTE that Deone Bucannon is hybrid guy, kinda like Jabrill Peppers....played S in college, used interchangeably in Arizona as a LB. Just 5 of the 17 guys below aren't being retained by their teams....and Bridgewater is due to injury. True, but I wanted us to pick Cooks so badly. Would have done us so much good. Seemed like such a great kid too. The idea of him now in NE is just absurd to me. I was banging the table for either Cooks or Dennard. Think about this team now....3 years later! What continue to be our biggest needs - It's been WR (we just drafted two more) and CB (after drafting last year and signing Claiborne). We'd have either our #1 WR or #1 CB on the roster right now and probably for the long term. Right now we have neither a #1 WR nor a #1 CB. Ugh.

He could always work at the stables a couple of miles away.

Does anyone else think maye and Adams are very similar players. How do you think they will be used. I feel like they both play better around the los

I think it is a combination of drafting and developing players. I don't think Rex can develop shit. I know our WR coach couldn't then. Who is to say cooks is not a bust if he comes in with gene throwing him the ball and our HC thinking offense is a necessary evil?

I woudlnt call Sheldon a bust. He showed so much talent as a rookie. Lack of real leadership and organizational dysfunction/ineptitude are as much to blame as Sheldon is himself. Fact of life is many kids from this new generation need to be babysat a little. 22 is the new 15. And his complete 180 in character from his rookie year didnt happen on its own.

At least we're not the Bills. Traded all those picks for Sammy Watkins & nothing to show.
