Abso-fuckin-lutley! I need it after this week. The younger one is thinking of joining the Peace Corps after she graduates college next year and go to fuckin' Africa to a country where our state dept. says not to travel because of ISIS and Al Qaeda activity! WTF?!?!?!?! If you ever put your foot down...this is the time. I had a cousin do exactly that years ago and lets just say, she was not looked out for. These things are run by snowflake idealists who have no problem putting our kids in harms way so they can claim to be saving the world. I'm dead serious, do not let her go. My cousin has never been the same and the Peace Corp did nothing to support her then...or now. To them, her experience was an inconvenient truth that threatened their clueless world-view so she was basically dismissed and ignored. How long ago did this happen??

I'd feel helluva lot better if she told them Africa was out. She's been to Honduras twice on mission work and had a great time.

My 20 year old sopne just did a 3 week business/tour/class over in Europe and I had to have Raoul console and comfort me, so I can imagine your angst. Sounds like a wonderful girl with a great soul, but sometimes we have to protect angels like from their own good intentions. I really dont like the Africa angle. Women are very vulnerable there and the snowflakes who run stuff for our well-meaning volunteers have their heads up their arses.

My daughtne is going to a wedding in Northern Ireland in a few weeks, booked it a year ago before all this shit happened and is spending 2 days in London. FFFFUUUUUCCCCKKKK. _

They have slick recruiters who can talk one into anything. My wife who started out as the more tolerant one between the two of us has flipped her switch, cussing in email (she never does that) and telling me we should withhold her last year of college tuition if she decides to go that route. Geez, this is turning into the Cuban missile crisis.

I'm sure they're very cognizant of what's going on over there. At least they have communication and transportation.
