It could be worse, at least we have the Pod Cast....

I am not the least bit surprised that McCown was named the starter and, as much as most of us hate it, Bowles cannot look at the veterans on the team and say, with a straight face, that Petty or Hack give the team the best chance to win. Bowles job is to win games whether we like it or not. It's probably going to cost him his job because, even with McCown, we are not winning more than 2-3 games this year. McCown (and Petty) are also both pretty injury prone, so we are bound to start Hack at some point. The minute Hack starts games, we are losing out for the remainder of the season because he is utter dogshit. Jax and Miami at home are pivotal games because I can conceptually see the Jets winning those games. If we lose those 2 games, we could enter week 6 at 0-5. We are picking top 3 next year guys. The only team that scares me is San Francisco, they may actually be worse. I don't disagree with you. The other reason to start McCown is because we have so many young, unproven guys on the offense: OL, TE & WR are full of guys we really don't know much about. At least with the veteran starting for part of the season, we can get a read on how good (or bad) some of these young guys are. With Hack playing the last few weeks, the OL looked awful and the WRs had no impact, but how much was on them and how much was on a QB who struggles to read defenses, set protections and make decisions. I would add the Buffalo game to your list of pivotal games. As of now, Tyrod Taylor and TJ Yates are out with concussions. One or both may be back by week 1 -- but if our defense goes up against Nathan Peterman or Keith Wenning, I would like our chances to win that one.

It's all moot at this point, McCown is not winning any games either. I'm more concerned about who is the QB starting in 2018.
