Should our Lbs really be going up the middle one on one with guards like that? Especially Lee...just seems like a set up for failure. The second play is clearly a bad play by Lee but the first just seems like a bad play call/design to me.

Jets should let Davis walk after the season and sign a guy like Kevin Minter or Preston Brown for $6-8 million per.
I'd also look into taking an ILB in the late 2nd/early 3rd round like Cameron Smith or Malik Jefferson, pushing Lee to a sub package role.
ILB is probably a bigger weakness and a more immediate need on this team than OLB.

Both are under 26 and, once our interior DL wakes up, should start playing better. However, we have probably the worst pair of ILB in the league.

2 things would vastly improve the D. 1) a 350lbs+ blocker eating NT; and 2) a situational pass rushing OLB. And please wait until 2018 to implement the remedy.

If the Jets don't like what they see from Simon, then a guy I would look into maybe dealing a late rounder for is Andrew Billings. I remember going into last years draft many thought he was a late 1st/early 2nd rounder who fell to the 4th simply because NT's supposedly aren't as valuable anymore. He's a pure 3-4 NT, never saw the field last year after the torn meniscus in preseason, and doesn't really fit the Bengals defense. May be worth looking into

one guy's "killing" is the next guy's "helping us in the draft".

May be worth looking into Both Billings and Simon are options for 2018 but they are closer to 300lbs than 350lbs. I want a someone who eats blockers for snacks. (see what I did there). Dontari Poe is also free agent after this season. He's 346lbs but at 27 years old we can easily fatten him a few pounds to get him over 350lbs.

The Snacks effect. For years our LBs benefited from a DL that demanded every bit of attention from the OL. And we also had Harris who was an absolute rock for us in the middle of the defense. Couldnt cover but he was a sure tackler and always maintained his gap integrity.
Ive been down on Lee from the beginning but I am not throwing him away. He gets this year, next year and maybe even his fourth to try and develop. Also he should never be in a position where he is taking on a Guard. That is poor scheming.

Problems solved. David Bass is in house! Wait.... who?
Says he is a DE in Seattle. According to pro football reference, he's mostly worked as a 4-3 DE, with the exception of 2 years in TN, where he played OLB

Well today our linebackers killed Miami. Davis had 11 tackles on his own 11 from Demario Davis
