I think most schemes are personnel driven.. But do you think Bowles is running it, or has it now become a Kacey Rogers D? i would think bowles would have final say...they came up with a scheme that they both agreed on like most HC/DC's...the routine stuff like postioning, gap coverage, blitzes, etc i say is rodgers' but in a pinch, late in game or if he sees something then its HC time...

it's the ILBers that killing this Defense. Davis & Lee are either out of position, choosing the wrong gaps, or just getting blown up by the Guards. Davis is not good. Lee is a 43 OLB. Bowles and Mac know it. They just can't do anything about it at this point. I agree. It doesn't help that we stick our undersized ILBs behind an undersized 3-4 NT. Agreed. McLendon is a good player, but not what this defense needs. Trade him or cut him. Simon and Pennel would be better for this D. the other thing I would like to see is Jordan Jenkins moving inside some. He's a tough guy, and a good tackler.

He's an in inch taller than David Harris and about the same weight, and everything that makes him a good strongside 3-4 OLB would serve him well on the inside. Two problems: 1) who do we put at Strongside OLB and does Jenkins have the speed to cover RB's, which I don't think he does much of right now.

Is that the Jets current blitz percentage? Does it include when 3 DL and 1 LB rush? because I do not consider that to be a blitz.

I would wager it's 100% Bowles scheme and Rogers is there too implement it. Since he is a defensive coach I can't fathom that he would let Rogers run whatever scheme he wants, especially with the results we've been getting. Just look at the type of players we've been drafting and that screams Todd Bowles scheme. I'm also not sure where you are getting those blitz numbers from because we've been one of the heaviest blitz teams in the entire league since he got here. IIRC we were #2 last year. That was my feeling as well until after watching the first two games this season. It just looked different. Do you know what the blitz numbers are so far this season? Cause I'm just not seeing it. And if we are blitzing a lot, we certainly do suck at it. I even considered the possibility that they ratcheted back on the blitzes and were playing vanilla on D because they don't want to put too much pressure on the rookie Safeties. good point about their treatment of the rookie safeties. Didn't notice it at first, but looking back, it's a good point. The press is probably completely into personnel at this point.

Well that looked like Bowles D against the Fins. Skrine and Adams with sacks, Cutler facing many 5+ man rushes.
If the D plays like that for the rest of the season, Hack may be the starting QB next year.

The skins are idiots for not locking him up They will tag him again if they need to. Will cost between 28 and 35 million depending on which tag they use.
