They're playing both ends. Very easy to see. Also jumped on the opportunity to distract from the Aaron Hernandez CTE news. Not for the players, who ironically from the last CBA through yesterday, have been "played" by the owners. Just watch in the next CBA the players will be granted some meaningless "right" to protest while the owners are focused on money. I have sided with the players on the majority of labor disputes. I think the first crack in the shield was dealt during the last CBA negotiations. Really made both parties look greedy and petty. Everything the league has done in the past 10 years or so has weakened the on-the-field product in my opinion. The players can protest and express themselves in countless ways that I will support. Not standing for the National Anthem isnt one of them. And not for nothing but this is an issue with the fans as well. If you are at the stadium you can look around and see the fans on their phones during the Anthem. Its a disgrace and it starts from an early age in elementary schools. Off-topic but I dont want tax subsidies for stadiums anymore. Owners are billionaires. The league has tremendous purchasing power. They can build their own.

I noticed that no Jet took a knee during the anthem. And CJ talked with every player before the game to tell each of them that he did not know what they intended to do for the anthem, but whatever they chose to do, they had his full support. Then, they ALL stood together. These guys may not win many games this season, but at least they are easy to root for.

It goes way beyond football. The people that control entertainment and the flow of information have made it a mission to promote their political interests to the point where there is very little escape beyond cutting the cord. This is all by design.

Lost most of my respect for him that time he tried to trip the player on the Ravens. Imagine if that kid blew his knee trying to dodge him and the ramifications for himself and his family. Villanueva now has the #1 selling jersey in the NFL. Tells you all you need to know. money.cnn.com/2017/09/25/news/companies/alejandro-villanueva-jersey-sales-steelers/index.htmlLet them pander to the mob on social media and betray their loyal fans that spend their hard-earned money.
