Fucking sad and disgusting. What's truly sad and disgusting is the fervor of the NRA and some gun owners who continue to look the other way after these shootings. Automatic/semi-automatic rifles, assault weapons, and magazines capable of holding an absurd number of rounds belong with members of the military or police. IMO, they should be outlawed for the average citizen. The argument that they are for hunting rings hollow and false. I have no problem with people owning registered guns. Single shot rifles and pistols should do the trick if you are truly serious about using them for hunting and protection. I gave up arguing about this issue after New Town as nothing changed afterwards. Even though 27 little kids were murdered. You shouldn't be legally able to buy a gun capable of mowing people down from a 37 story window. RIP I agree. The NRA leadership has circled the wagons after all the outcry over the previous shootings. They seem to have an "all-in" mentality. I think they view the issue as a slippery slope type thing where they dont want to concede a thing. On the other hand, Cuomo pushed through ill-conceived legislation here in NY State that was so badly written and pushed through so rapidly after Sandyhook, that active duty cops and most retirees dept. issued ammo mags were deemed illegally carried on the spot. We literally had cops driving around in patrol cars with guns that were legal the day before and were now illegal. I was now technically a criminal too! What was the impact on bad guys? None. Its not like they were gonna turn theirs in, but Cuomo got to take a bow and crow to the cameras (and he alienated reasonable thinking gun owners who would support real high capacity mag legislation) It was eventually rectified, but it is an example of the sort of ill-informed, knee-jerk legislative action the NRA leadership is afraid of. At some point, however.... they will have to concede that they are hurting their own cause and alienating some of their membership with their abject inflexibility.

NRA isnt perfect but they are using comparable force. If they give an inch it will turn into a mile. Their opponents want to use the guise of "common sense legislation" to begin the path to confiscation. That is the end game. Abolishing the 2nd Amendment is the modern leftists holy grail. And they are well-funded.

Listening to the hundreds of shots rain down on video taken by folks in the middle of that ordeal is just scary as fuck. Can't wait to hear the excuses for why the average person needs that capability. Maybe we should wait to hear exactly what type of hardware he was using before we go on diatribes. Based on the sounds I have heard on video that sounded like already banned equipment. I can at least share a report on the number of rifles this sick fuck had in his hotel room. From the Daily News: “Lombardo said that the gunman, who he called a “lone wolf,” is believed to have used multiple rifles to attack his victims from the hotel. More than 10 rifles were found in the room, where police believe Paddock had been staying since Thursday.”

Says he converted a few months ago. I will take with grain of salt for now. Sadly, I think we will learn this guy was radicalized by something.

ISIS claims responsibility for every terrorist attack. I find it difficult to believe a 64 year-old guy out of Mesquite, NV has been radicalized by ISIS or the antifa.
