we thought this year was different
they were going to suck in a whole new way
but no, suddenly they give everyone a little hope (as always), get everyone invested in a rooting interest (as always), then fucking blow up in disastrous fashion (as always)
jesus fucking christ, think about it: what was supposed to be the new, 100% version of straight up "suck for sam" jets is simply the (wait for it).....
SAME OLD JETS.

I left that game with two (what I view as indisputable) truths. First, after Morris Claiborne, the Jets do not have an NFL quality CB on their roster. Second, we got our first glimpse of the real Josh McCown -- great guy, good leader, decent passer, capable of making mind boggling errors. This is why he is not, and has never really been considered, a starting quality QB by any NFL evalautor.
So, the TANK is back on. Home vs ATL, BUF, CAR, KC, and SD; Away vs TB, DEN, NO, NE. Where are the wins? Ryan, Newton, Smith, Rivers, Winston, and Brees are better than Matt Moore and all have decent enough receiving corps that there will be open WRs all over the field. My money is on the Jets being shut out in Denver. So, home verse Buffalo? Maybe. The final game in NE is possible, but it is in NE and the game may be meaningful to the Pats for playoff position.
So, I'm hoping for a string of losses in nobly contested games lost as a result of a QB prone to brain fart errors and CB's incapable of .... well, playing cornerback.
I'm going to start looking into tickets for the NFL draft. This teams needs.... shit, we long suffering Jets Fans deserve, a franchise QB.

Denver just got shut out by the Chargers and lost to the Giants at home. And the Panthers game is totally winnable as well. Cam Newton is inconsistent as all hell. That game is a total tossup. We could get 3 TD Cam, or 3 INT Cam. Tampa Bay, Atlanta and San Diego are completely beatable also. The Jets are winning at least 5-6 games this year. Why some fail to see that or just choose to ignore it and keep banging the tank drum is beyond me. There's no way in hell we wind up with a Top 2 pick short of selling our next 2-3 drafts to move up. And I'm becoming less and less sold on a kid like Darnold by the week. Rosen is the prize. And either San Fran or Cleveland would probably tell you to go fuck yourself even if you offered the farm to move up to #1. The Jets are going to have to search different avenues for a QB. Either by making a big offer to a guy like Cousins if Washington is dumb enough to let him walk, or by taking one of the lesser heralded QB's like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, etc and hoping that they pan out.

I'm still high on Darnold but I agree Rosen should be the first QB taken. I don't know why but I am really starting to gravitate towards Baker Mayfield and I've never been in his bandwagon. I've almost totally fallen out of love with Luke Falk. Josh Allen could be Blake Bortles 2.0 _

I've almost totally fallen out of love with Luke Falk. Josh Allen could be Blake Bortles 2.0 _ I hated Mayfield at first because of the off the field stuff, the short frame and the offense he runs at Oklahoma, but the kid is a great competitor, good athlete, is great at rolling out and throwing on the run and is pretty accurate at all 3 levels. I initially compared him to Manziel, but he doesn't really play with that goofy, backyard style that Manziel did. When he moves out of the pocket he's still looking to throw first and foremost. Allen could be the next Bortles, or the next Big Ben. There's really not a lot of middle ground there. Total wildcard but I wouldn't be dead set against the Jets taking him at all. I'm done with Falk. Kid is totally clueless at feeling the rush.

And Miami and the Pats were totally winnable the past two weeks....? The fact is the Jets are what the prognosticators believed they were: A team without offensive weapons and decent D with suspect CBs. They fooled everyone with the beat down of the Fins followed by slim victories vs the Jags and Browns. But, C'mon there is a reason McCown was 2-20 over the past 3 seasons. Until the 4th qtr vs Miami we had only seen good Josh. Get ready for extra helpings of bad Josh for the rest of the season. The fact is when the Jets and McCown play well, they can barely beat a bad team. Unfortunately, there are no bad teams left on the schedule. The losses will be close games because opposing coaches will know better than to take risks in games against the Jets. But, make no mistake, they will be losses. Noble, hard fought, gee it coulda went the other way with a break or two losses, but nonetheless losses.
