Why do people assume that everybody in the military is a hero or good person? As in all walks of life, there are scumbags and criminals too.

I guess it's the basic premise you're willing to give up your life for your country, so they deserve our respect. Other than that you're correct. No reason why there should be more or less douchebags in the military than anywhere else.

Same with doctors. As I get older I trust them less and less. When I see the absolute incomptence at times around me at work I realize there should be the same degree in important sectors like doctors or lawayers where you're basically puting all your trust in one dude's opinion.

I read this article and it absolutely sounds like these Seals killed this man. The only thing that surprised me is that men of such low character could commit and successfully complete the rigorous training involved in becoming a Seal..then throw it all away for $$.

Lots of drug use in the military.

Why do people assume that everybody in the military is a hero or good person? As in all walks of life, there are scumbags and criminals too. Some of them just enjoy murdering people. Especially defenseless ones. And they flock to positions of athority where they can "legally" murder people. They were all bullies in school and most likely tortured small animals.
