Widely reported that coach Morton will take the OC job in Oakland if Jon Gruden accepts the job out there. So who've you got as the new OC?

I’m a big Morton fan at this point. Aside from our over-achieving win loss record, the team put up plenty of yards, points and touchdowns this year - especially given the outright lack of top talent at any O skill position. The bad Petty games skew things but the Jets were basically the 20th most effective offense this season. Given where this ragamuffin squad was in OTAs that’s a minor miracle.

Agree he has done a great job obviously. He will (or has) requested a release to coach under Gruden (his mentor) in Oakland. I suppose jets could be hardline about it but I'd doubt it.

How about the Jets ship out sleepy Bowles, bring in Gruden and keep Morton?

Maybe we can steal Jim Bob Cooter from Detroit with Caldwell getting canned.
Furthermore, if Bowles doesn't work out maybe we can try and hire Morton as HC next year.

Gruden planning to call plays, maybe Morton isn't a sure thing yet?

If Morton goes I wouldn’t mind seeing us reach out to Defilippo again. He’s done an amazing job with Wentz and somehow managed to get Sanchez to take us to the AFC championship game.
Hopefully the Eagles wouldn’t block him from leaving 2 years in a row.

A decent idea I've seen elsewhere - is to promote QB coach Bates into the OC role (he had it once with Seattle) and then add McCown to the staff as a QB coach.
Bates was the OC before Wilson, but he still managed to get the 9-7 SEA team to 11th in points and 15th in yards with Hasselbeck in 2010.
