So you are saying she is available? I drove from Oklahoma City to NJ about 20 years ago. Best thing I can suggest it try to plan out interesting stops along the way. We went an out of the way route through St. Louis, Chicago and Michigan to see people we knew. == Yes she is, but she comes with 2 dogs.. I have family in OKC, Albuquerque, San Diego, and Sacramento. But I am not sure I want to even stop in on them? Maybe I can find the worlds largest ball of twine or something. There you go. You can have the dogs pee on the ball of twine. Make the trip special for them too.

Oregon? Isn't that the state where people drive around the wild northwest, get lost in snow storms and don't get found again until the spring thaw?

Johnson City? That's cool. Played there once, it's basically a two city block town. ======== I only have been there once about 20 years ago, seemed like nice folks and in the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains, but I won't be there long. Ever been to Nashville? Seems like that could be fun. People were really nice. I love that area of the App mountains. Been to Nashville. Got kicked out of a club for underage drinking. Haven't been back since. I have some friends that go all the time and they love it. This past summer I almost met up with a girl I met from Cali but that didn't happen. At the moment I have no reason to even go anywhere near Nashville.

Thing is I am flying from Portland to TN, and I have a great fear of what may happen if I try to smuggle some of my dope on to the plane. pre 911 i just to wrap a bit in foil and put it in my checked baggage, now I'm just doing a carry on. Oh, I was thinking you were driving the other way around, from Oregon to Tennessee. Yeah don't do that, or you will be posting from prison like Ragu.

I was in Nashville one time for a meeting. Went down to the hotel bar for a drink and was blown away by the quality of the band playing there! And then I thought, of course, there's tons of talent here trying to get discovered and only so many venues, and that's how you get this amazing band playing the Airport Holiday Inn!

I guess at some point you will be on I-70? I would just get off it before CO and hit 80. Either route you will encounter snow. But getting up 70 up to Loveland Pass then followed by Vail Pass, Ive seen numerous U-Hauls, Ryders, etc. burn up!!!!!!!!!!! Plus if it snows and they dont supply you with chains, you will be in a bad way.

I'm planing on hanging down south and heading north around Los Angeles.

ON the 17th I will begin a drive from Johnson City TN to Portland OR. Any comments, advice, or stories of similar road trips would be appreciated. My sister is moving back here, so I will be helping her drive a UHaul/Ryder/Penske truck with a car trailer behind it. Over 3,000 miles Via a southern route, with my twice widowed sister and her two mis behaving little dogs. My sister is a pearl, her dogs suck but as long as there not left unattended they don't cause too much troubles, so they should be tolerable. Could go as far south as Dallas or maybe a little further north through OKC, I guess we will make the call when the time comes weather permitting. Never made a drive of this length before. The truck has to be returned in seven days so that's our time frame, I figure at least five days of driving. Good chance to see some of the heartland, maybe a bit of Route 66, a chance to eat some southern food. Maybe I will have fun? I think the 3000 in 5 days is pretty optimistic. That is 600 per day average in a moving truck while pulling a car. I am willing to bet you will need 12 hours or darn close to it to get 600 in each day. Good luck and Mail the weed to your sister a few days before you leave. Problem solved.

I like your mailing idea, I could glove up and write the address with my left hand, mail it from the post office or library, then if it gets found out it be all on my sister, who has plenty of free time to do time. And plus she owes me now.

(7 days) Made similar trip from Yakima Wash. to Texas pulling u-haul rig for a friend. Take your time, don't drive if your tired. Get out and walk around. Pound down the Red Bull and turn on the music. Don't stop in the snow anywhere that has not been plowed. You can do it Gunnails, were all rootin for ya!!! We'll leave the light on for ya.

I envy you. Long drives like that used to be my fucking lifeline all hopped up on pills and booze, out there just moving. Small towns, the desert, the isolation. Fuck I loved it. I do it sober now but admit it's not as much fun or pleasing Back in the day, we would drive from CO to Vegas. Had to finish the 8 ball before the Utah border! About 3 hours, those fucks would just follow you based on the license plate, talk about being spun out. it was always RoShamBo on who had to operate the car through Utah. Utah is a weird, but very cool looking state geography wise, so it was easier to look out the window than drive thru it. oh yea. This was the 90's and i was young and stupid, don't try this at home kids.
