See the posts by dcat and joepnyj1 lower down on the page I'll be more than happy to wait until after the Super Bowl. I really need Seattle there to ensure SparklePony and the Fagtriots don't win. What makes you so confident that the Pats are winning the AFC this year? Got some good teams in the playoffs this year.

What makes you so confident that the Pats* are winning the AFC this year? Got some good teams in the playoffs this year. Isn't it obvious to you that the league has already determined that it wants them there again this year?

By the way, can someone tell me exactly what Kyle Shanahan has ever accomplished as an offensive coach? Specifically what makes him a good option? What QB has he groomed? What offense of his has been in the league's elite? So far, the only "qualification" I can come up with is his last name. How is this not Schottenheimer 2.0?

I don't follow Kyle that closely but I will say that dad Mike's zone running game has worked EVERYWHERE Shanny Sr has been and with seemingly interchangeable personnel. If Dan Quinn is the defensive 'guru' people think he is - adding in a dominant running game that can work without expensive talent - I think that's already a solid blueprint towards success.

I live in CLE and his offense was great this year considering the lack of receiving weapons without Gordon and Cameron and a key injury to Alex Mack. His running game was excellent with 2 rookies carrying the load. He stretched the field with Hoyer throwing to Hawkins, Gibson, Benjamin and Austin at WR (smurfs and no #1). The injury to Mack at Center hurt the run game and pass pro, and the return of Gordon in week 13 ruined the chemistry/timing. He didn't even finish his routes and Hoyer took the blame even though he was throwing to a spot anticipating Gordon would be there. I'll take Shannahan in a heart beat. I think his zone run offense with tons of play action is very QB friendly and opens up lots of chunk play opportunities in the passing game.

I was looking at some of his team's numbers yesterday after his name kept coming up as a potential OC. Matt Schaub had three really nice years under Shanahan as QB Coach and OC. Over 66% completion percentage each year, QB ratings in the 90s and led the league in passing one year. Texans were ranked 3rd and 5th in total offense during Shanahan's 2 years as OC. Hard to draw any conclusions about him based upon everything that wen on in Washington and Cleveland over the last few years, but until this past year in Cleveland, his teams were always int he top half of the league in total offense.

One more note on #Seahawks DC Dan Quinn if he gets a head coaching job: One OC option is Kyle Shanahan. The other option is Tom Cable.
