Where there's smoke, there's fire. That's what keeps occurring to me about these incidents? There's got to be poor leadership qualities somewhere along the way. Maybe Mac doesn't take into account incidents regarding poor judgment? Has Herndon gone through the rookie symposium yet? Either way there's a serious discrepancy between how good, successful teams like the patsies select players and how our front office does the same thing? Based not only on the behavior of the players, but also the performance on the field, good teams like the Steelers, patsies, etc. are light years better organizations. The Jets are on the verge of going 5-11 for a 3rd year in a row, our roster leads the league in arrests, and our front office has had all of it happen on their watches. Every metric known to football fans shows this front office is incompetent and does not know what they're doing. Why Woody hasn't swept these fools in the trash is just more indication that the very ownership doesn't care either. Chris Johnson has already OFFERED to pay the players fines in the event they decide they don't want to stay in the locker room to disrespect the flag, but would rather be on the field and take a knee. What do we have 53 Colin Kaepernick dumb shits on our team? We really need to stop making a mountain out of a mole hill here. Dumb decision on his part no doubt. Let's not judge him by his mistake but by is recovery and go forth behavior. This is not the end of the world or the organization for heaven's sake. A 22 year old got pinched for a very common 22 year old offense. Dumb... yes. Tragic no.. thankfully. Understood about Herndon. I agree he should be judged on what he does going forward. The larger picture, however, and the essential part of my post is a factor on why this tean a does not improve. This front office doesn't know wtf they're doing. They make poor decisions at every turn.

However, and I do think this is pertinent to the discussion, Hernandez was a very good player. So the patsies took a very dumb risk knowing that if the kid kept his nose clean they would have a tremendous young talent. It blew up in their faces. The Jets, in contrast, have yet to draft a single player on Mac's watch that's as talented as Hernandez was and yet Mac's picks get arrested a lot. But most of all, the results on the field speak for themselves. The Jets suck.

12 arrests. Since the end of the 2014 season -- when Macc became GM of the team. 12. Most in the NFL. GB is 2nd at 10 and then no other team has more than 7. In fairness, some of those arrests proved to be nothing when charges were dropped, but you could say the same about other teams. 125 arrests of NFL players in total since the end of 2014. An average of 4 per team. We are at 12. 4 of those since the end of last season. No other team has more than 2. Is it just bad luck? Or does it say something about how we scout player's backgrounds off the field.? I really don't know the answer. NYJ Chris Herndon 1 Chris Johnson 1 Darrelle Revis 1 Dylan Donahue 2 Lorenzo Mauldin 1 Oday Aboushi 1 Rashard Robinson 1 Robby Anderson 3 Sheldon Richardson 1 Can we go back a year to include Winslow and his whacking off in a target parking lot? and he's graduated to some really nasty stuff now: VISTA, Calif. — Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was jailed without bail Friday after pleading not guilty to multiple counts of kidnapping, rape and other charges. The 34-year-old Winslow was ordered to return to San Diego County Superior Court on June 25 for a preliminary hearing. If convicted, Winslow could face a maximum sentence of life in prison. His attorney, Brian Watkins, did not immediately respond to a message left at his office. Prosecutors say Winslow began a crime spree last March that included rapes, kidnappings, indecent exposure and burglary and continued until just before his arrest this week.

According to charging documents, he allegedly: - kidnapped and raped a 54-year-old woman on March 13
- and then a 59-year-old woman on May 13.
- and then a 59-year-old woman on May 13.
- On May 24, prosecutors say, he exposed himself in a public place,
- The burglary charges involved alleged break-ins at the home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1
and an 86-year-old woman on June 7.
Winslow was originally arrested June 7 in the burglary case. After posting bail he was arrested again Thursday on the additional charges. On Friday, Superior Court Judge Robert Dahlquist ordered him held without bail. The son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow, the younger Winslow spent 10 seasons in the NFL from 2004-13 with Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New England and the Jets. The former University of Miami star had 469 catches for 5,236 yards and 25 touchdowns in 105 games. Once the NFL’s highest-paid tight end, he was suspended in 2013 with the Jets for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. In November 2013, he was arrested after a woman told police she saw him masturbating in a parked car outside of a New Jersey department store. Winslow was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana, and the charge was dropped after he completed court-ordered terms.

So is anyone taking bets on whether Herndon is any more intelligent than Geno Smith or Robbie Anderson?
