After watching the way the Saints and Chiefs lost this past weekend and seeing how close they both were to getting to the SB only to fail spectacularly at the last second, I wanted to ask you all what is worse - the Jets floundering in the depths of crappiness as they have for the past 3 years or being almost good enough, getting close and losing in the AFC Championship game?
I was crushed after the Jet loses in the AFC Championship games and am still not fully over ‘83, ‘98, ‘09 and ‘10 (not to mention the ‘86 and ‘03 divisional heartbreaks). So, my question is this: is it easier (better) to deal with these joke seasons or the “wewerethisclose” Years? I honestly think it’s less painful to deal with the sad sack seasons where there is no interest or hope (when apathy fully sets in) then to have your heart ripped out after putting so much emotion into the team.
Chiefs and Saints fans right now are living in despair.

If we ever get to the Big game again, and we lose, I hope we get blown out. I couldn't imagine being the Chiefs or Saints this year. Or Atlanta, Seattle etc from few years back. Getting there and losing in these fashions is awful, so yea, these sad sack seasons are perfect.
That being said, if we do get back, we are winning, too much in our past from Shula's water hose, fake spike, butt fumble, GAstineaus roughing, the wind in Denver, playing for the field goal in Pittsburgh. God can't be that funny anymore.

In the ‘03 (or ‘04) Doug Brien Steelers game i was at a bar and had ordered 2 bottles of Dom as he lined up for the FG (thankfully they didn’t open them!). When you get that close, you gotta win because God knows when you will get back. Sure, the Chefs might get back their every year with Mahomes, but their may be a young stud QB named Darnold who will dominate the next 15 years 😎. Omg - we gotta get back one day and we gotta win it all. The party will be epic.

The Jets and choking in big games has become a warm comfy blanket. It smells terrible and you sticking with it doesnt make sense to others around you. However the warmth and familiarity have become priority over the obvious flaws.

Both trick you into beleiving in them then tear out your heart, take your money and crush your soul.

Complete fuckups are easier to deal with ... worst I went through is the loss to the Steelers under the Herm ... easiest season was Kotite ... this past season was the easiest of the Bowles era ... and now we are completely in the era of Maccagnan the fucking idiot. I'm not counting on Gase just yet because it looks like the fucking idiot is calling the shots. What might be interesting is how these two get on with each other.

"They way they lost" - you mean like the refs stole the game from them? Yes, that would suck. Only thing worse is calling a dumb Italian GM Irish. But then you prolly knew that.

There is nothing worse then this, the last time I watched my team play in a SB I had to go to school, 1st grade, the next day. Yeah let that sink in.

Saints fans...living in despair?
FUCK THAT!
Saints fans were able to see a fucking Superbowl Title in their lifetime!!
They deserve zero sympathy!
