Probably not too bad, losing in the Super Bowl isn’t exactly a big failure. Well - I would put this up as an embarrassing loss though - to be the #1 offense in the league and eke out 3 points and - what - 6 first downs...... NE has a smart defense, but they are hardly the 2000 Ravens.

The Jets, as they stand today, would have played better yesterday than the actual Rams in Rams uniforms. 🐏
Maybe would have won...

The Rams aren’t looking in the mirror feeling bad for themselves. The future is bright for the homeless Rams.

The future is bright for the homeless Rams. That stout D is on Wade Phillips though - who has always been good against NE. My point is more that the 'new' philosophy of offense-first NFL seems to have met the older school version and lost badly - namely, realizing that knowing how to score points is different from knowing how to win football games. Obviously the Rams feel pretty good having gotten to the SB, but they had a severe emperor-has-no-clothes moment and teams don't always recover from that. And if I were a owner or GM who had slammed my fist down on the table yelling "Just get us a guy who can score 30 points a game!" I'd be feeling some doubt. If I had told you NE would score 13 and TB would have no TDs but a pick - who would have thought NE would win the game? No one on the Rams side.

People say this about Super Bowl loser alot but I don't think history is kind to SB losers. (Except Pats)

I'll add that I preferred yesterdays slugging chess match to the track-meet style games of the (recent) regular seasons.
Don't like the result but at least it felt like football and not basketball with pads on.

You can’t give credit to Phillips and ignore Belladick. I’m not a big Goff fan, but you have to be able to run the ball, kinda like they did against Dallas.

And Todd Gurley - WTF - I have hardly seen less inspired running in any playoff game ever. Ugly.

Was he injured or not? They only ran the ball 18 times. If he was injured he should have been out of the game - it's super-rare for an injured player in football to be any kind of decoy - at least once the game starts. And the Rams were super-adamant, saying he wasn't injured. It's a head-scratcher and doomed the little chance for success Goff seems to have had. Goff was a short-and-intermediate thrower all season long - despite the big arm. And that shorter passing game was badly hurt by the lack of play-action.
