You see, if I, and perhaps you, were Goodell, I’d have told Kaepernick, from the start, that the NFL doesn’t owe him a living, so get lost and stay there. Better yet, go to hell. I would not have allowed him to game the game. But Goodell’s NFL paid him off — maybe with your “good investment” PSL money. Thing is, Goodell is not on an island. He works for the owners. This settlement is on them because they don't like trouble. They have mountains of cash to toss at problems. And they get is from us. And they will still get it from us. We can all get on our high horse and say what we might have done if we were Goodell. But we dont even have the intestinal fortitude to turn off the TV. How can we chastise Goodell for cow towing to the owners to keep his gajillion dollar job? And next year somewhere millions of poor schmucks taxes will go to build a new stadium somewhere. And round and round we go. Its also in large part due to the litigious and settlement based legal environment we're come to tacitly accept. Its easier for people with money to just pay the plaintiff to go away, then to fight for what might be right.
