I can't imagine that we couldn't have found anyone better than that piece of shit lowlife cocksucking scumbag. The guy completely destroyed this organization in only two years. Was this REALLY the best Woody could find?

We were on a downward trend for a couple of years before he got here. He just exacerbated things.

Not getting a wr in wr rich draft , drafting a do nothing saftey when we didn't need one, a stone hands TE. Now the whole thing is being blown up again and we r at square one again. Hate idziks guts.

Can we please move on? He's gone. Let's look forward. Kind of hard to when he completely destroyed the organization. It might take at least five years for the Jets to recover after what he did.

Many years. Because by the time they fix what he messed up, the areas we r ok in will b getting older. Although with the money/cap space we have hopefully a talented gm can fix the mess sooner rather than latr. Although we r looking like things r gonna b tough at the qb spot so who knows. Because idzik left geno without wr weapons it was tough to fully evaluate him but as of rite now geno doesn't look like the answer . So, to answer ur question, idzik set us back probably 5 years. Not good.

Yes when Rex Ryan is rammed down your throat.

When you make it mandatory that the new GM has to keep Rex as the HC...then yes.
I would imagine that one of the fine perks of getting a GM job is being able to choose, or at least have input, in deciding who the HC is.

I'm not in any form an idzik supporter, never was, he was horrible at drafting, but I think it all wasn't his fault. I knew we weren't going to compete this year so I was totally fine with saving the money. He definitely had a grand plan, whether that was going to work idk. He never got his own coach, took a chance on a qb in the 2nd which I will always appreciate when we draft a qb.

We could have hired Mike Maccagnan. He's a well respected Director of college scouting for the Texans. Look him up.

the problem is that the jets hired the wrong type of gm to pair with rex. idzik is a bean counter not a personnel guy. he must have thought he knew enough to conducts the draft wisely and get solid payers. rex needed someone who could be objective and tell him where he was erring without holding his job over him. by all accounts idzik was looking for rex's replacement the minute he got the job. not exactly the way to get the best out of your head coach. to rex's discredit he pretty much conceded idzik was his boss and didn't help his case by starting geno or protesting many of the draft picks. obviously nobody could have predicted the cornerback implosion but even there idzik was awful fast dumping cromartie and should have made a push for revis if only to bid his price up. imo idzik's real problem was not addressing the oline. he should have replaced colon and the kept howard. giacomini was a move backwards. geno was pressured the whole season (not trying to give too much credit to geno) and just coudn't react to it.
the bottom line is te seaosn was completely wasted because of the way idzik managed the team. all they needed to do was score about 20 ppg instead of the paltry 17.

And the complete failure to get a wr in this past draft. Also, a saftey who was awful this year and a stone hands TE. Geno had no weapons when decker was out early in the year. It was pathetic. Every gm wants to build the team thru the draft, idzik just could not pick quality players. Everyone knew what we needed and that moron picks a safety? He's a 1st class dope.
