Are the Jets doing their due diligence or moving on from Quinn? Not sure how I'd feel about McDermott.

Most likely doing due diligence. If Quinn is the preferred choice you can't move on just because he is under contract and his team is still playing.

You have to keep the process going even if you feel comfortable with Quinn. Until you have a signed contract you have to keep your options open.

Quinn is still the #1 choice, but what happens if seattle gives him an offer he cant refuse...or the niners and bears give him more money? You need to have option B, C and D available just in case.

Good to do the due diligence, as well as keeping options open just in case. Also, if Mac is involved, it gives him some experience with the interview process.

We should be able to see if Quinn to the Jets is a lock or not if the other HC vacancies start being filled this week. If we do not see any hirings then maybe other teams are interested and think they have a chance of hiring Quinn as well.

people assuming this has anything to do with quinn are dumb. having said that, this guy does not excite me at all and is probably just mccagnan doing his due diligence. perhaps someone he works with, someone he wants to bring on board, sang an endorsement for mcdermott and mccagnan is seeing for himself. either way, i wouldn't make much of it. the more interviews, the better.
when bill cowher retired, the steelers had a list of guys they targeted for the job. only to satisfy the rooney rule, they interviewed mike tomlin. they unexpectedly fell in love and hired him. never leave a stone unturned. didnt yall learn anything from mangenius?

Exactly, what if McDermott knocks it out of the park at his interview? Quinn is the front runner right now, but someone they've not interviewed yet might be a better fit.

Need to have Plans B and C. Things never seem to go exactly according to plan with the Jets.

Jets and Falcons each planning to bring back Cardinals DC Todd Bowles for second HC interview, per sources; trying to finalize schedule now.
