The alcohol kept the injury numbers down because a drunk person stays relaxed throughout the shit hitting the fan as their alpine deathmobile leapt of the concrete track. Years ago a friend of mine rolled his car after over-indulging. He was banged up pretty good, but spent only one day in hospital. Dr. comes in and tells him he could have been killed but his intoxication prevented him from freezing up and bracing which would have caused more traumatic injuries. My friend stares at the Dr. and says "Beer saved my life?! Beer saved my life!". The Dr. was like no no that's not the lesson here, that is not what I'm... And my friend just sat there repeating Beer saved my life, beer saved my life. He was dead serious.

In fairness, that is more likely because Trump has mentioned the idea of getting rid of the US postal service, which makes perfect sense. The Dems defend the need for the postal service but also push for government funded nationwide broadband access. But guess what, once there is nationwide broadband access, we are only a short walk from doing away with the US postal system. This can be added to the list of all of the other occasions people support Dems without ever thinking things through. The inner city poor continually voting for the party that deprives them of school choice which can provide their kids with the education needed to end the cycle of poverty is at the top of that list.

A 30 year old with a beer standing next to a 14 year old with a beer and a 16 year old employee sold it to them. That place was the pre-Hampur. This is why the injuries mounted. I got hammered everytime we went there. Thankfully I was never hurt. The alcohol kept the injury numbers down because a drunk person stays relaxed throughout the shit hitting the fan as their alpine deathmobile leapt of the concrete track.

So, I was watching some of the riot footage and I thought ... What if you owned one of the businesses near the rioting. And what if CODIV-19 had put you on the verge of bankruptcy. And what if you had the type of insurance policy where you would do pretty well (especially in comparison to bankruptcy) if your building was ransacked and burned to the ground.
I can't say if this actually happened over the weekend, but I'd be shocked if the thought didn't go through some of the small business owners' minds.

I cannot believe that anyone really genuinely feels Joe Biden currently has the mental capacity to be POTUS. Agreed but does Trump? All Trump has to do is not tweet, and he cant freaking do it. China is taking over Hong Kong, an Issue he should be HAMMERING, and could win on. But nope he gonna float an original far leftist theory started by Michael Moore and the Daily Kos communist that Scarborouigh killed some intern because he is mentally 10 years old. I absolutely can not stand what the Democrats have become, but its hard to say Trump deserves to win either. His policies overall are decent, but the way he carries himself is almost impossible to vote for. I agree. But, as you say, Trump's policies are overall decent. Unfortunately for the voters we really have to pick between the two. I don't feel great about Trump and his oddities (putting it nicely), but I do feel he is a better choice, and frankly, for me, it's not even close. I look at this way: There are only two stores I can shop at. One has most of the items I want at prices that are reasonable, but the owner is an insufferable blowhard who follows me around the store praising himself and crowing about how great his store is. The other store doesn't have what I want -- it's either some low quality off-brand or it's simply not something I would buy. Plus, their prices are ridiculously high. The owner is pleasant enough. Although he does virtue signals a lot. Anyway, If those are the only two stores I can shop at, I'm going to go to the first one.

I watched in disbelief. My buddy Arch was watching with me at my parent's house who is Bears fan but likes the Jets in the AFC and he kept saying, he's going to miss that field goal. I looked at him and said, no it's over and it was. Part of Jets lore. I'd like to see the Jets win the SB one more time before I cash it in. Hopefully, I'm not like Joe Biden when it happens, so I know what's going on. I've accepted the fact that they'll never win another Super Bowl in my lifetime. It's helped ease the pain of the past decade. I suggest you do the same. If you're saying the Jets will win after you're dead, I know a guy.

I remember watching it on TV live, and i see gastineau keep going, and i say to myself he will just pull up right??? Howard hit Kosar at the same time Gastineau did (1:54:00) So, it would have been a penalty anyway. I was more infuriated with what happened after that. We pinned the Browns down inside the 5 with less than a minute to go and a 3 point lead, but a Special Teams holding call resulted in a re-punt and the Browns ended up outside the 30. Then a stupid PI call where the DB would have had a pick if he had just turned around was a 20+ yard gain. At that point, this being the Jets, the game was over.

I've almost completely given up on news. At this point, I'm down to 3 reporters that I trust to follow the facts and clearly separate their opinion from their reporting: Matt Taibbi, Sharyl Attkisson and Glenn Greenwald. The funny thing is that I know I disagree to a large extent with the politics of two of them. But, they are always thorough and do not allow their own politics to contaminate their work.
If I was a billionaire, I'd start a News Network and these 3 would be my first hires. I'd have to be a billionaire because the establishment would do everything in its power to stop a genuine investigative news network from even existing because the establishment's acceptance of corruption as everyday business in the U.S. has reached third world levels.
If you're not familiar with Taibbi's Useful Idiots, I highly recommend it. It never ceases to amaze me how refreshing it is to listen to intelligent people without an agenda discuss the meaning and significance of current events.

Frank Costanza was entirely 100% his creation. He was initially written as a meek character.

Thank you for all the heartfelt sentiments. It is done. My family is heartbroken, but we will recover.

I never had a dog growing up. Neither did my wife. But when the kids were little, I gave in to the pressure and we got a dog. I can not imagine ever having a better dog. At different stages of their lives, he was a best friend to each of my kids going absolutely everywhere with them. All of the neighbors know and love him. Shit, people would drive to the house to visit him. I always scoffed at dog-people saying their dog was part of their family, but now I get it. Tragically, rather than get to enjoy his golden years lying on the porch with my wife and I and stuffing his face with treats, he started to have difficulties getting up and walking a few of months ago. No problem. He's an older dog. They get arthritis. And, they make a lot of wonderful supplements and medications for that. After his condition only worsened while on supplements and meds, we learned he has degenerative myelopathy. Think Lou Gehrig's disease for dogs. Now, he can barely walk and he constantly falls. He cries in frustration at not being able to be at our side if we leave the room. Today we are bringing him to his "final" vet appointment. I am beyond upset at the prospect of losing my dog and totally pissed that I even have to make the decision to put him down. I feel the same obligation to protect and provide for that dog like he's one of my children. And I am helpless. Absolutely helpless. What I wouldn't give for him to get to have one more healthy day to play in the yard.
When people encouraged us to get a dog, they NEVER mentioned THIS day. People deserve to know. A dog will give you tons of happiness and become part of your family. But, he's going to die and it will not likely be a peaceful in his death sleep. And you may in fact be the one who has to make the decision for him as to when his suffering is to the point that death is preferable. But, Jesus! The dog can't talk and there will always be that kernel of doubt as to whether you are doing the right thing.
