So you’re assuming the Jets are the only team desirous of trading up. For a franchise QB. Did you hit your head recently?_ It was a while ago. The eye and stuff. 2001. When he became a Pats fan. _

Ok since the tank is semi-on but semi-off, we need as much help as possible moving as far up in the draft as we can. I get it. We’re not getting the 1 or the 2, but we need to get as close to the 3, 4 or 5 as we can. We’re going to need to trade up to the 2 because unless Cleveland is completely mentally deficient with syphilis, they aren’t trading out of the 1. So Thursday we should all root for the Giants (as painful as that is) and the Chargers. Oh, and don’t win another fucking game all year. Btw, why is there a quilt for people who have died from AIDS but not a quilt for people who have died from syphilis? _ The Jets do not need to get as close to 3,4 or 5. They can trade up no matter where they finish if they like the QB they want. Think the Eagles regret giving up all those draft picks for Wentz? Think the Rams regret giving up all those draft picks for Goff? It’s not like the Jets would nail those draft picks anyway. As long as the Jets don’t get Rosen, I’ll be happy. So you’re assuming the Jets are the only team desirous of trading up. For a franchise QB. Did you hit your head recently? _

slide continues. nypost.com/2017/11/22/the-nfl-ratings-slump-is-getting-worse/The TV audience for NFL games steepened its slide in week 11, losing a million viewers versus last year’s season-to-date average. The 6.3 percent slump — worsening from comparable declines between 5.6 and 5.7 percent during the previous three weeks — plagued a week when off-the-field drama made gridiron tackling seem almost tame by comparison. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remained the major distraction by continuing to battle with fellow team owners and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension. Jones brought even more tension to Week 11 when video footage surfaced late last week of the football tycoon making a racially charged remark at a 2013 wedding party. President Donald Trump added to the off-field antics with a tweet calling for the suspension of the Oakland Raiders’ Marshawn Lynch for not standing during “Sunday Night Football’s” national anthem. Only two games had audience gains. NBC’s “SNF,” during which the Philadelphia Eagles whomped the Dallas Cowboys 37-9, managed to attract 12 percent more viewers than the comparable contest a year ago. Fox’s singleheader Sunday, which saw the New Orleans Saints sneak past the Washington Redskins 34-31, drew 10 percent more viewers. After starting 11.8 percent behind last year’s TV audience for NFL games in Week 1, league viewership had either held its own or narrowed the gap through Week 8. The 6.3 percent shortfall in Week 11 reflects an average viewership of 14.9 million for the NFL’s 68 national telecasts this year versus 15.9 million for the season-to-date in 2016. FILED UNDER NATIONAL ANTHEM PROTESTS , NFL , TV RATINGS Yet some of these idiots continue to double down. I guess they figure they’ve gotten their guaranteed $$ and will be out of football soon so they don’t give a shit that they are killing the game for the younger players. Olivier Vernon obviously doesn’t give a shit. And while I don’t wish injury on anyone, I hope Marshawn Lynch gets herpes simplex 10. _

The one thing I don’t have room or time for is I would love to make a sweet jalapeño cornbread in a cast iron skillet. Have never made it before but saw one the other night on the Food Network and it looked delicious. Maybe in the next few weeks. _ You could knock that out in the morning. I'm going to bake off a regular cornbread tomorrow after I wake up and put on the coffee. I had a bunch of pears, so am roasting them off with butter and maple syrup. Just a side dessert folks might like plain or with some ice cream. When they come out of the oven, I'm going to make a crustless pumpkin pie, which is my final baking item for the day. Besides, kids coming in tonite, going to be a long nite so I’m going to sleep as late tomorrow as possible! _

I don’t bake a lot. Don’t really like crust, love fruit filling, cold/cool never warmed. Peach plum pie from a Farmers Market underneath 1 Center Street Municipal Building in 1986 was the best I’ve ever had, but fruits of the forest, blueberry, cherry love the all. The only pie I bake is Alton Brown’s Super Apple pie. No brown sugar, no cinnamon, no nutmeg. White sugar and grains of paradise. That’s basically it. It’s about the apples and not all the other spices. I love it. Even bought a “pie bird” to vent it lol. _

Just started simmering my turkey brine. Probably drop the bird in at about 6 pm. Make the stuffing tonite. Probably a dram or 2 of scotch as the kids start showing up. _ My stuffing is almost done. Steamed carrots (for glazing tomorrow), brussels sprouts and string beans earlier. All set for shallots and butter tomorrow. Also made a coffee cake which my son was clamoring for. Sipping that Santa Julia Malbec I mentioned a while back. The one thing I don’t have room or time for is I would love to make a sweet jalapeño cornbread in a cast iron skillet. So what am I so afraid of? So isn’t that what life is made of? It worries me. _ Enough already. Fuckin guy. Jeez. Shirley Jones was a hottie in her day, no? A real dandy. I'd blow the dust off of her and eat the corn out of her petrified sh*t. Susan Dey was a bit tall for my tastes but SHE was the hottie. I met Danny Bonodouchebbag in Turks & Caicos in 2004. Hot as hell and he was wearing denim shirt with the arms ripped off, denim vest and denim jeans tucked into cowboy boots. Looked like a total tool. _
