They can't afford the taxes on anything. Same with big game show prizes! It's almost like the "free CD's for a penny!" Then you're obligated to buy 100 at 10% over mkt price. Plus shipping. For your convenience and all. Have heard tons of stories about ppl getting straight fucked for winning cars and especially stuff like "cash" and trips. If you win the lottery you can afford the taxes. The problem is that people that win the lottery were typically poor before and have no idea how to manage money. $1 million seems endless to someone who has no money so they spend and buy shit for friends and family and then turn around and have nothing. I hate government intervention but if the state really wanted to do something to help people the lottery winners should have to take a class on personal finance or hire an accountant before getting their winnings. I mean they are the ones giving the money, a little guidance might help. Kind of like the rookie symposium for NFL players. THIS^^^^^ Both my clients were referred by an attorney. I thought of them as "hostile clients. They both won lotteries and then went on to buy co-ops in Nassau and Queens. They leveraged themselves, the HOA Fees, mortgages etc were a bit much and if you remember, in NYC and LI, there wasa big recession in 1990. Prices fell and the banks foreclosed on them. They had so little business skill.....

Ended up in Delaware with a nice house a mile from the beach. While he was shopping he went and saw a condo in Wildwood, NJ. Agent asked how much he was going to put as a down payment and he said he could do $200k. Guy tried to pressure him to "invest" and buy 10 units. It was pretty much the height of the market and he is very conservative so he didn't do it but a lesser man would have gone all in and been in way over his head and underwater once the market dropped. A fool and his money are soon parted.

A fool and his money are soon parted. That's basically how this happened. An agent sold him all 10 or so co-ops with very little down. Each one became cash flow negative very quickly and he ran out of money.

The language is ironical. Which makes you happy, I guess? If you cant take my word for it that the narrative is bullshit, I dont know what else to tell you. I've posted the stats that refute it, tried to explain it from a former libs perspective...No PD is perfect, and fallible humans will be fallible in encounters with the police sometimes and bads cops will do bad things. This is waaaaaay more complicated than all cops bad, all civilians good when the sh*t hits the fan. There is a whole socio-economic political movement behind alot of what is going on that is not based on reality. Race is used as a tool used to divide. People react to what they are exposed to..and dont react to things the MSM wont show. I learned this through experience. We've travelled different paths.

Simply a remark that both sides express themselves using the exact same victim language. I’ve already told you (maybe you didn’t see post) that I respect your opinion because of what you’ve experienced. That’s your reality. You are right about a lot. Of course this isn’t all cops bad, or all blacks thugs. But police reform is a part of the picture, among many things. Holding that belief doesn’t make me anti-cop. Makes me pro- good cops.

People who fought for freedom from dictators did their fair share of toppling I wouldn't topple Southern Generals, but I'd put them in a museum.

NO statues/idols allowed then. And ABSOLUTELY no statues of anyone alive, or within 25 years of their death.

So someday when football games are played again there will be hundreds of players kneeling. White and black. Coaches too.
People will express their consternation, but will they abandon football?

So someday when football games are played again there will be hundreds of players kneeling. White and black. Coaches too. People will express their consternation, but will they abandon football? 2016 was the last year this was such a hot topic, although its hotter now. I think the league ratings were pretty bad for them that year (by their standards). Lets not pretend that about 90% of the narrative on this issue hinges on what happens in November.
