So someday when football games are played again there will be hundreds of players kneeling. White and black. Coaches too. People will express their consternation, but will they abandon football? 2016 was the last year this was such a hot topic, although its hotter now. I think the league ratings were pretty bad for them that year (by their standards). Lets not pretend that about 90% of the narrative on this issue hinges on what happens in November. What do you mean? 90% of police brutality will end or continue depending on what political party wins a presidential election?

Honestly I’m shocked sports haven’t figured out some way to eliminate the anthem altogether.

But even just the tone of who ever is elected will have a huge effect on amount of protests.

The narrative (which is determined by the media) will either change of be the same. Nothing is going to change what is actually happening in reality.

Of course things can change. Changes can be made that will result in less violence. It takes real leadership. The kind we haven’t seen a long time.

Of course Sharpton isn’t the leader we need. That’s too lazy, I expect way more from you. I guess I could post a picture of a horrible conservative, but what’s the point? You know as well as I there are opportunists on both sides, We need leaders who aren’t on a “side.”

Again this tit for tat does nothing. Turns this all into an online game. It’s too important for all of us to be taking sides.

It’s too important for all of us to be taking sides. I remember seeing something early on in the GF rioting. I think it was a pro athlete but it may have been a entertainer as well. Black. Said, and I paraphrase, "black supremacy is as big as issue as White supremacy. You cannot swap one for the other. We have to work it out together". And we do. But we need to some how get the agitators, on both sides, out of the equation. Not certain how to do that.

You know as well as I there are opportunists on both sides, We need leaders who aren’t on a “side.” See thats the thing. In the very beginning of this there wasnt taking sides. I have never seen more unanimous support for the issue and condemnation of what the police did. There was a "win" to be had for all. Progress to be made. All we had to do was take yes for an answer. Then came the excuses for rioting and anarchy. Then came the charlatans. And then it became about Trump. And now we are back on the hamster wheel. It will die down after the election. Then it will be back in 2024. It is all politics now. No sense in even denying it anymore.

Even the protests and their possible effect on coronavirus is politics.
