i think they kinda know long islanders are packing, unike the sjw willows in nyc what they also need to understand is that guys like me and frankly most guys i know willingly dress head to toe in camo, climb 30 feet up a tree and freeze our asses off for 12 hours just waiting for the opportunity to kill something. so either way, get those sights sighted in and crack a beer Has been quiet by me, so far but the menace is in the air. Have all my mags loaded and dusted off the Mossberg (which I bought when the Sandy looting began) and my old bullet proof vest. Also, been sleeping on the couch near the front door. If this continues, I will probably begin to sleep during the day and stay up all night. My neighbor, a Russian businessman, approached me this morning and asked me if I thought he would have any problems buying shotgun shells. His kid gave him a shotgun when this shit started. They know better than anyone how this mob shit spirals. On the bright side, my town has its own cops so we are better off than neighboring towns who have to rely on Nassau County P.D. who are really spread thin. Why don't you get a dog? He'll wake you up if there's trouble and you can walk Fido over to that lady that let's her dog shit by you and return fire.

There are millions of cops. All are human. Many are dicks and unfit. Deal with them as we encounter them. Dont demonize all when one fucks up. Seems to work when we consider other individual perps of various crimes. We may see a member of a particular ethnic group do something to another...but we take special pains to not generalize. That is fine. Lets be fair. But fair wouldnt benefit some politically. Cops don't deal with cops though. They reassign and cover for them. How many times have you seen it in your 20 year career? This cop should have been dealt with years ago. But between unions and the brotherhood, they remain, to harm the rep's of all the good cops doing a shitty job for too little money. And therein lies many peoples complaints. Most cops are good, decent, hardworking people, but it seems to the general public like its near impossible to remove a bad cop, until shit really hits the fan like this. Cop unions, teachers unions, etc. - they do some good but also protect the bad eggs. Mises Institute just did a piece on this: mises.org/wire/why-abusive-cops-so-often-keep-their-jobs

so what's going on on Long Island? any bullshit happening with 'protestors'? not a lot near me in CT, they closed down a highway in bridgeport a couple days ago but so far that's it hearing conflicting stories about Long Island In the Hudson Valley, so far some peaceful protests over the past few days, but no violence or looting. A lot of rumors that antifa's gonna hit the suburbs, but so far it all looks like fake news and bullshit.

Have all my mags loaded and dusted off the Mossberg I have a .22 I used to target shoot with when I was a teenager but I may get a shotgun. Just priced some with a gun shop locally. I've only done some clay pigeon shooting with a shotgun - hurt my fcking shoulder after 5mins. Hopefully never have to use it.

But between unions and the brotherhood, they remain, to harm the rep's of all the good cops doing a shitty job for too little money. I've seen plenty of cops disciplined and fired, you dont hear about it. Problem is there are a ton of bullsh*t complaints that have no merit and its often difficult to differentiate..so yes the cops get the benefit of the doubt, however distasteful that seems. Here in NYC they demanded that the cops wear body cams. Guess what happened? The cams began to reveal inconconvenient truths about how some citizens behave when dealing with cops and then they were considered an invasion of privacy by many of the same folks who demanded the cops wear them. My problem is that alot of this stuff we are seeing is fueled by false narratives spread by the MSM, racial arsonists and politicians. It has become "the truth" that there is an endemic race-base brutality problem nation wide. That narrative was pushed by the last administration and set this country back decades. If I based my opinions simply on the incidents that the media cherry pics to support this narrative, I would believe it too. I'm astonished how much blatantly false nonsense is embraced by some pretty smart people who think the media and charismatic politicians are always on the level. If you are looking for evidence this false narrative is bullshit...here is a quick, succinct discussion by Heather McDonald, whom I always found to be fair and informed in her views; www.nationalreview.com/2019/07/white-cops-dont-commit-more-shootings/And again, I'm not defending the cop or his dept. here. The fact that they allowed neck compressions to begin with is disturbing. And to your point, maybe their system of weeding out bad cops might be weak ( I dont know anything about his prior record or how complaints were handled). Fix it, and stop pretending this is the norm. But to create a moral equivelency between what happened there, and what we are seeing in the streets now, is insanity. Not saying this does not happen but I know for a fact the covering and moving happens as well. The union is powerful and so is the brotherhood. Not saying that is wrong, just that it is. I have friends who are NYPD and NPD. It is a shitty job with little to no respect and worse pay, unless you work a lot of OT. The vast majority of cops are good cops who do the job the right way. Unfortunately guys like the one in Minny make all look pay and the good guys pay the price.

Paul Sperry (@paulsperry_) Tweeted: Here's the actual text of MPD manual Chauvin followed in trying to subdue Floyd by, as advised, "compressing one or both sides of a person's neck w arm or leg" if suspect is "exhibiting active resistance." So what happens when he's acquitted? Will jurors & judge be called racist?

I am not an expert in this area, but it seems plausible in this instance that the suspect was not exhibiting active resistance.
