This isnt the end of this mess. Whenever they decide fans are allowed to attend gamed then they are going to go after the fans for wearing Redskins apparel, flying Redskins flags in tailgates, etc. So basically people will be forced to spend money to get new jerseys or they will be racist. I disagree. I don't think they'll "go after" anyone. Like most issues that seem big at the time, I think it will fade away. My HS changed from Redmen to Red Hawks. There's still a group of people who go to games with Redman signs...seems super important to them. As time goes on most folks are like, "whatever" about it. I don't see a mechanism to "go after" people for wearing a shirt. Also, you don't really have to buy a shirt.  Your high school isnt a highly visible entity. You remember when the only statues they went after were Confederate Generals? Now its Jefferson and Washington. And I make the comparison bc the movement is being driven from the same source. The mechanism is social media. They literally doxx people and have celebrities helping them by posting their pictures and asking their followers to identify. |

Some teams have taken preemptive steps to form relationships with Indian groups whose advise them on proper use of imagery. The Braves did this and have support for the name. Florida State as well with Seminole’s. It’s really not that hard. |

Gravel racing has really taken off in the US the past decade or so, the biggest race being Dirty Kanza in Kansas. Now they are changing the name. The Indian groups had always endorsed the name of the race, but some fuckhead then came along all woke and said that "Dirty" in the front was derogatory. Ignoring, of course, that it was called that for how filthy the participants were at the end of the race.
I say that as someone who agrees with the Redskins move to change. But the all or nothing approach of cancel culture and hypersensitivity is going to be our undoing. #fuckyourfeelings
