Shouldn’t we check with native Americans first? All I see and here is everyone else talking about it except the people who it may offend.
Ask them. Is the name/logo disparaging to native Americans or honoring them? If they don’t like it, then change it.
To answer your question, change it to the Washington Useless Scumlapping Shitbag Politicians.

Redskins? Are we talking about potatoes? I don't know any human that has red skin so who are we disparaging? Maybe we can call them the Washington Reds? After all, it's OK for Cincinnati, isn't it? Or What's up with the Cleveland BROWNS? We really should eliminate color as a basis for naming teams. What about the RED Sox? Isn't the name YANKEE a southern derogatory name for northerners? Those racist Chicago WHITE Sox ought to be dealt with asap! I can't take much more of this racism. Embrace the stupid fucking political correctness so that our citizens will be safe from insult which we know leads to death for blacks. [sarcasm off]

He should tell FedEx to blow it out their ass. Team is worth over 3 billion and their naming deal is for 250 million. Rename the field after some Indian chief. Really trigger the fuckers.

Seems like white liberals are much more offended by the name than natives themselves.

Based on evey car rental agency near any of the DC airports Ive been to in the past 5 years I figured theyd just abandon football and have cricket instead.

What about Jeep Grand Cherokee? Do we have to change that too? I feel the use of tribe names isn't a big deal at all as there's an implied honorific associated with them (no one is going to use a name they think isn't cool/badass). With that said, the Redskins don't have a leg to stand on. Their name is a slang term used for an enemy, no different than calling the Japanese 'nips' during WW2. The name should go, and should've been gone at the same time St. John's got rid of the slightly less obvious slur 'redmen.'

I thought it was just a descriptor, much like white man, black man, etc.

Pretty sure there have been polls and the majority of Indians don't have a problem with the name. Paleface.
