It's time to start a new thread for the 2021 Isles. It looks like we're doing a 56 game season that should start in less than a month and obviously the divisions are all fucked up. Good news is we finally get to see Sorokin, bad news is we traded Toews for peanuts and my non-gay mancrush Boychuk finally retired. Anyone else here willing to keep the thread going. Thank god the dumbass Metropolitan division name is gone, at least for a season.
The Atlantic is brutal. However I think Pitt, Boston, and Washington are on the decline, and I’m not sold on Philly.
A short season may bode well for the energy intensive defensive style the isles play.

Big L @baconjet Lithfan shakin islesmb Boychuk was struggling to stay on the ice. Was a great trade at the time, and he has been great for this team, but he did us a favor by retiring. We have enough depth on D that we should be okay, even losing Toews, which sucks, but with our cap situation, we couldn't bring everyone back (that Ladd contract just keeps looking worse and worse, thanks, Garth).

How is that possible. We don't have a slick skater that can pass running the point. We're missing a Visnovsky type of player.

Welcome back Lith. I'm happy that Boychuk retired because he was taking a beating in what seemed like every game he played. I'm surprised by the lack of enthusiasm when it comes to Sorokin.....we might have the best defense AND goalie in all of hockey next year.

Gotta see Sorokin play before I get excited about him.

Gotta see Sorokin play before I get excited about him. Why? He's the best goaltender in the world.

Gotta see Sorokin play before I get excited about him. Why? He's the best goaltender in the world. I know he put up insane numbers in the KHL, but I gotta see him do it here, in the NHL before I get too excited. Going on 35 years since any of my teams have won a Championship, I have learned to be cautious in my optimism.

Was hoping we would sign Hoffman to help with the PP. Hopefully Wahlstrom will help out in that capacity.

Isles open with two games at Rangers. Odd. It's going to be weird only playing teams in our own division all season.
