Reading about this litterally brought tears to my eyes. 10 year olds..so sad. All shootings are tragic obviously.

The tranny stuff has been partially de-bunked. One of the pics has been vehemently denied as being him, there seems to be some wavering on the other. Also, is it still true that he killed his grandmother? And why choose this school? I'm of the opinion that Lanza in Newtown was intent on avenging some perceived slight/abuse at the school he decimated. Of course, choosing elementary schools is also possibly done as they are perceived as easy targets. Either could be in play here.
Quasi-related, there were threats against schools in this town 2 years ago by a 16 year old. Follow-up reports were that it was a girl living in PR. Odd, and at the very least, concerning, given how small this town is.

I think this comes closest to what the problems are. Add in victim culture and that schools are soft targets and it is the perfect storm.

Steve Kerr's speach has been buzzing and was surprised when he said 90% of Americans are for stricter gun control. I found this site with some interesting stats, and it appears the number is more 53% (81% Dem/21% Rep). www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/09/13/key-facts-about-americans-and-guns/I admit as a foreigner I'm not pro-gun to the point where I think everyday people should be able to buy assault weapons, even if you're not mentally unstable. You should be able to protect yourself and hunt, end of story. JMO

Probably bit more complex that that but I get where she’s going. I’ve often referred to the mental health crisis (and that’s a pretty broad brush I’m using) in this country. This tries to help identify some root causes for a fairly specific group of people. 800lb gorilla in the room that nobody wants to talk about. But hey…it’s easier to turn it into political talking points vs address the underlying problems.

But hey…it’s easier to turn it into political talking points vs address the underlying problems. Mental health or the lack thereof has become a badge of courage or a way to get internet points. Look into the trends of kids believing they have split personalities and Tourette's because it gets them attention on social media. There is also a thing called "main character syndrome" or "center of the universe syndrome" which has taken a huge leap in "popularity" because everyone is broadcasting their own Truman Show from their phones via social media. Everything in someone's life is recorded and reported for likes instead of actually going out and living a real life for its own purpose. Kind of similar is people needing constant validation for their tiny accomplishments like a video game player gets for completing a task or level. I am a gamer but a lot of games give people the feeling of accomplishments when they have done nothing but put some shapes in the right order. Your brain can become conditioned to needing that kind of stimulus and validation over time kind of like an addiction. I don't know what the solution is but technology has definitely caused as many issues as it has solved.

First problem: What is an assault weapon? One where if you went hunting with it everyone would say "wtf Dave?". How is that a definition? That is the problem. People want to ban scary looking guns rather than anything with any realistic characteristics. You can put 2 guns side by side, one is black and sleek and scary looking one looks like the gun Elmer Fudd carried but they are exactly the same gun under the window dressing. There is also the point that the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with keeping government in check. As they say the founding fathers didn't write the Bill of Rights after coming home from a hunting trip. They did it after coming back from liberating us from a tyrannical government.
