That sucks, sorry to hear that. Not sticking my nose in your business but you might want to reconsider your decision when the time comes. As hard as it is I'm pretty sure they would like the opportunity to say goodbye to your pet.

I lost my first pit at 8 years old to cancer....fine one day, gone three weeks later. My boy just turned 9 yesterday and any little bump scares the shit out of me. You're doing the right thing, just stay by his side the entire way.

They wont blame you. You are doing the pup a solid. Something we cant even do for our human family if they are suffering.

Dogs are so innocent and loyal, it's almost worse than people when they pass. On the bright side, Crossfire runs "Doggy Disappear" as a side hustle iffin you dont want to deal with that end of it. You can take credit for it though.

When I was running the golf course, I had to put down two of my of my border collies over the years because of cancer. Those dogs were with me at work every day. I was with them damn nearly 24/7.
Putting them down was crushing.

Something is wrong in how they are treated. its the dog food. it's pure garbage. even the "good" brands. we gave him a lot of beef and chicken mixed in with the "top" brand of dog food, but he still hadda eat his fair share of "dog" food then they chew on "treats" and "toys" all made in china with who the fuck knows what shit they have in there plus they drink the water straight out of the tap, with all the flouride and other shit in it fuckin dog is looking at me lately like he knows what's going on. he's a pitty so he doesn't whine or cry about anything, even when he had a bad leg, before surgery, he would power through playing and going on walks then deal with the pain and consequences later. the veterinarian field is no different than the human medical/pharma field. great at making/keeping customers, not so good (or trying at all) to eliminate problems

Gotta be something with line breeding and food. Sucks we get such short time with them.

We went through this recently. Brutal after having Roxy for 14 years. The medical field does not want to cure anything. There is no money in curing people. They want you to return over and over. Don't get me started on the peds antibiotic rant.

Had to put our beagle down right after Christmas. He had bladder cancer. He was very old but we weren't sure of his age as he was a rescue. We had 8 good years with him, they guessed he was about 15. Had cataracts and arthritis when we adopted him and we never saw him run. Sweetest dog ever. It is never easy but know when the time comes you gave him a great life and you are doing the right thing. i.ibb.co/kgK4Rt3/JJ.jpg

My dog is behind on all of his vaccinations and my vet is fine with it...when is the last time a fucking dog got rabies? It doesn't happen but that don't stop them from jabbing up your dog every three years along with all of the other shots they get for illnesses they'll never get.
