You are a big fan of the Glanmorange line eh, Fish? How is it. I may pick up some more of that Qino Ruby stuff or whatever that was. Drank it all in one night... oops lol

And nothing, yet. Just came out, haven't picked it up yet. Maybe next weekend. Lost a close family member this week after a long fight against dementia, on the Polish in-law side. Been drinking this in his honor: Also picked up this recently, but not yet opened:

Drank it all in one night... oops lol I very much like their annual Limited Editions, yes. Their base 10 year old is very good, and I enjoy the experimentation of tastes with the various unusual cask finishes. Also makes for a good investment/collection, as these rise in value rather consistently. One bottle to drink, one to collect, perhaps sell eventually.

Have not yet had the Rye. How is that vodka flavored? _

From wikipedia (since they explain it better than I can):
Cracked the Basil Hayden Dark Rye just the now. First sip is harsh, as American often is, but it settled nicely. Not sure it's materially better than the very similar Alberta Rye "Dark Batch", which is quite a bit cheaper, but the BH is not a bad dram by any definition. Spicy rye, smooth canadian rye, sweet port, as it says on the label. Flavors blend nicely. Sipping neat, no ice, and enjoying it, always a good sign for an American product IMO.

Wife just came from three weeks overseas, and brought me a treasure trove of new bottles: Glengoyne Travel Retail exclusive: Tasmanian Whisky (Australia) aged in Pinot Noir casks: Paul John Indian Single Malt (she was in India): And a favorite of ours (non whisky) Goldwasser or (in Polish) Gdańska wódka: (Definitely NOT like Goldschlager btw!):

To update my own foray into Whiskey...kinda started with Jamo..and stuck with it. Either Cask Mates or Black Barrel. A little rocks...I'm happy with that...and dont have much of an urge to explore any further...My learning curve as a life long beer guy...was not to gulp it. Slow down and taste. Appreciate the advice from you guys, though. Srsly.

Impulse bought this ($112) to try to raise my game. Jamo was getting pedestrian (and so many friends told me it absolute shyte compared to the good stuff) Gonna crack it after a few beers during the Yankee game. Un-informed, drunken review to follow. Possibluh

Possibluh I've been drinking this and its Caribbean cousin lately, both really good.

Possibluh I have the 18 year model. Very Good at 175 here in Carolina. Wifne got me a bottle of Macallan 18 for my birfday. Shit is outstanding. I almost shit myself when I reviewed the month card charges. Yikes.

Possibluh 112 dollars??!! Wow the price difference is crazy between Europe and the US. I can get that bottle for 26 dollars. Whiskey's an expensive hobby for you guys. On another note I've been "casually" drinking way too much. Having a whiskey around 11 when everyone's asleep, sometimes 2...practically every night. I'm trying to buy less. I usually have about 3 bottles around I want to to "try". So I've cut off the source for a bit. No bottles, no temptations.

And I agree, very easy to do two each night, especially when the family is asleep. Throw on the headphones, open the laptop, check the twitters and sports sites...then go down the You Tube music rabbit hole. Def. can lead to some very depressing, deflated mornings though, much more than beer/wine etc...but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

I don't think I've ever gone over 100 dollars. In the 60 to 80 price range you're getting top of the line stuff. Not to disrespect I'd never put 112 bucks into the Glenlivet.
