The new Adult Swim show, Newsreaders (very funny btw) has a "reporter" at a wedding. When the bartender hands hima drink, he sips it and spits it back into the glass. He then says, "If I wanted a scotch, I'd have ordered it with a lisp."

Got this for my B-day. I've had it in the 12 and 15 variety, but 18 was a (big) step above. Oh so smooth...

Thanksgiving started yesterday for me, led off with this fine selection: They could knock $30 off the price of Signet if they didn't spend so much money on the packaging. I'm always frustrated that the metal collar on the bottle neck makes it difficult to pour without dripping a drop or two. Really, they don't need the fancy bottle to sell that stuff, it is sublime.

Jetworks, You drink blends? The few I've tried I did not like at all. Can you suggest one I might like?

I recently had this at my friend's house. I'm a big fan of the extra finished scotches.

Jetworks, You drink blends? The few I've tried I did not like at all. Can you suggest one I might like? I know I'm risking my Hampur Elitist rank, but I actually like blends. I think they tend to mellow out the vagaries of single casks. I like Dewers and will often order one on the rocks when out. To tell the truth, there isn't much difference between it and Duggan's Dew. The Duggans I always keep around the house.

Agreed, but there is something to be said for the heft of the bottle and the quality of what's inside. Jetworks, You drink blends? The few I've tried I did not like at all. Can you suggest one I might like? I like Dewar's, but I've started to move away from White Label, which kind of defeats the purpose from a price perspective. Not a fan of JW, but my FIL really likes their Double Black. Pinch and Compass Box are supposed to be good, but I've never had the latter and the former was last tasted ~10 years ago. I tried the Dimensions stuff last year and loved it (made with older, bought casked of distillers). Went out and bought this guy for the holiday weekend - one of my all time favorites Owned by Dewar's, right? Good stuff. EDIT- NVM was thinking of Aberfeldy. Never had that one, add it to the list. EDIT- NVM was thinking of Aberfeldy. Never had that one, add it to the list. If you're into peat then you're in for a treat. One of the better Islay brands, right up there with Laphroaig and Lagavulin. I prefer the Uigeadail but the 10 is also quite good, so is the Corryvreckan, the Supernova, the Ardbog the Alligator...I could go on and on

That's what I use to clean nails.

The punchline after is, "The only real whisky is from Canada!"
