A bottle of Macallan 12 is about the same price and infinitely better, IMHO. Yeah, I'm not a blend person either. I'll drink blended, I just won't pay more than $30 for it. A bottle of Macallan 12 is about the same price and infinitely better, IMHO. I would take a $50 single malt over Walker Blue. Well said, completely agree. Anyone ever had this guy? I've heard good things Nope, but I'm a huge fan of anything cask strength.

How about the Aberlour A'Bunadh? Varies a bit by batch but even the not so good ones are still great.

Anyone ever have Glenlivet 21? It's about $150 a bottle and I'm thinking of asking the Mrs. to pick one up as a xmas present for me.

Delicious. First bottle I've had from The Glenlivet, always thought it was a bit overrated. I stand corrected.

Delicious. First bottle I've had from The Glenlivet, always thought it was a bit overrated. I stand corrected. I almost bought that this weekend. I've had Gelnlivet 12, 15, and 18. I liked 15 the best. Saw that bottle in the state store this weekend while picking up wine for a birthday party and almost bought it. At $60 it seems like a good buy, but I was pressed for time and did not pull the trigger.

I'm currently on a Talisker binge. My goal is to drink every batch they have. So for I've checked off: 10 year - my basic go to whisky Storm - My favorite Dark storm - tried it at the airport but don't remember much Amoroso - Very nice, on the peat side Port Ruighe - Finished in port casks, a bit smoother than the Amoroso Up next: Distiller's Edition www.moraswines.com/shop/images/P/talisker.jpg

How much does a bottle go for in Europe? Here the 10 year is about $60-$70

Recent aquisitions: Scapa - 16 Y Jura Superstition Talsker Storm Coal ila 12 y

I think the price of single malt here in the states is inflated in general.

Favoritest time of the year because, among other things, it usually results in my getting lots of new scotch:

Was drinking some 18 YO Laphroaig last night. Talisker 18 is better, but it was pretty awesome.

Well, this year I got my very own bottle of this divine goodness: I am green with envy. My scotch and cigars buddy got a Macallum 18 for Christmas. We're going to crack it open this weekend for wildcard saturday.
