L0L There was an awkward silence at Hampurcon during our "my wife breaks my balls" discussion when he said "I actually adore my wife. We get along great". Yeah almost as awkward as... grab a beer man..... That is an all time classic. I have been away from the board too long and needed a good laugh tonight. So much win in this thread.

Drinking at lunch makes me sleepy. I don't know how these guys did it in the 60s - drinking and smoking all damn day.

Yeah, JW said he adored his wife and Le Frog asked Gootz if he wanted a beer.
Or did Le Frog say he loved Gootz and JW asked somebody's wife if they wanted a beer?
I get so confused.

Applied for a job with a company online on Wednesday night. Got an email today asking to come in and meet the team, message back or call to set up a time when I am available.
Serious question - they do mean a time during normal business hours, right? Not like 'hey, I'm free Saturday at noon. Work for you?' Right? I don't want to call the guy and give the wrong impression right off the bat.
oh, and do I wear a suit for the walk around? Not for the phone call, you dickheads.

Normal business hours, they're not asking you out on a date. As for the suit it depends on the type of company and if they tell you otherwise - at very least a shirt and tie. Better to be overdressed rather than underdressed, yet a job in IT is going to have different dress code than a job at a law firm. Dress for the job you want etc etc etc

We're all casual dickheads when it comes down to it. You're right, though, better to show up in a suit n tie first. Jeans and sneakers after I get the job.

I'm an engineer too, went to every interview/meeting in a suit and tie, occasionally dropped the suit jacket. Nowadays I don't shave and rock a polo and jeans to work - still need to set the precedent and look like you give a damn.

Ha, I haven't shaved since Monday, wear jeans and a button down shirt, and a pair of Clarks on my feet that feel like slippers.

They'll realize that you know the questions before they're even asked and probably hire you on the spot.
