We were always fucking around with those cars...jet fuel, bigger carb, tire bleaching in front of the school...took auto shop as a class and we did all kinds of body and motor work...learned a lot..
Back then muscle cars were cheap..
My friend had a 57 Chevy that he spent the summer fixing. Needed a motor so I sold him one out of a 69 Impala I had that was roached...
First night he took it out he was buzzed...and...you guessed...totaled the fucking car....and NO insurance....
Polaks from Buffalo...big suprise

My first car looked just like this one (except for the dents in mine) Paid $400 cash in 1974. 1963 Ford Falcon Futura. Had a 269 V8, the girl was a real screamer. Three on the tree? My dad had one of those when I was little

My mom bought a lot of old beaters for my older brothers and me during high school. The ones that lasted were driven by several of us, like the Ford Falcon small station wagon, in which my brother put a mattress. Not sure my mom like the idea of a 16-17 year old (my brother, I mean, not me) with a mattress in the back. I didn't buy my own car until junior in college. Mostly I drove the Fury III that I mentioned -- beige car below. My brother got the Chevy Nova -- green car. (found these pictures from my old Instamatic camera, ftw)
Very infrequently I got to drive my step-dad's Cadillac. I did drive it to junior prom because my boyfriend was a sophomore and didn't have a license. He was acting like an ass and I ended up scratching the bottom of the driver's side. I thought my step-dad was going to kill me, since he only recently married my mom. My aunt also gave us her old Dodge Dart (white car below), which had push-button controls for D, R, N, etc, on the left side of the steering wheel. Very space age at the time, but an ugly boxy car.

I never paid for a car until this last one that I own now. (I didn't actually count the cars I had - some of them I "Had" for only a few months until they were resold.

My first car was a 1966 Buick Skylark convertible - mine was yellow, not white. Bought it in 79. The roof used to leak in the rain. Water would puddle up on the floor in the back seat. When I would come to a sudden stop, the water would rush forward. Surprised quite a few folks sitting in the passenger seat for the first time after a heavy rain. After a while, my friends learned to pick up their feet when I stopped.

After an MR2 and a Toyota Corolla SR5 sport coupe both handed down from my father I got a Mazda version of an Explorer Traded that in on a Lincoln Mark 8. It was a sweet car. Mustang V8 hydraulic suspension for handling, built in phone (lol) and tons of luxury. Ex-Wife made me sell it because it wasn't safe in the snow and we were having our first kid! Been Pickups ever since. I love cars but I have come to rely on the utility of a pickup. My Latest is a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie with ALL the bells and whistles. Thing is a tank outside and a luxury space ship inside. Best toy I have ever bought!

Without listing all my cars, my favorite was BMW 540i (mine looked like this, but was blue). In my opinion the e39 was the best sedan BMW ever built -- clean lines, built like a tank, lived at 90mph on the highway. The 540 was one step below an M5, with a big V8, a 6 speed, and M5 steering wheel. I loved this car.
