I had a 97 Jeep Cherokee sport, in black. Damn thing lasted forever - granted living in bklyn at the time, it didnt get a ton of miles. I think they are hit or miss, some people love them and have no issues, other people hate them and have nothing but problems. I got rid of mine around 150k

It was also 2WD (fail me), so I went with a 4x4 next. Had to take my daughter to an upstate clinic and two days before the front end went, so that's why I traded and got the Trailblazer. GM banged me for $500 on tires after I turned it in and couldn't properly fix a seal leak on the Traverse, so after decades (including wife's cars), buh-bye GM. The Toronado I bought with settlement money after being T-boned in the Grand Prix. Driving home one night from Seton Hall, it stalled. Within minutes it was ablaze. On the GSP. At 2 AM. Without comprehensive coverage.

SAAB dealer in the family? I had two 900's - had great turbos - you'd hit 30 mph and then zooooom! Yes actually - my dad. I never paid for a car until this last one that I own now. (I didn't actually count the cars I had - some of them I "Had" for only a few months until they were resold. My dad would pick us up from school and we never knew what car to look for. My sisters and I got really good at picking out the Rolls's, Jaguar XKE's (had to squeeze the three of us into that one), even a motorcycle on days when he only had one kid to pick up. He even had a spare helmet, that fit, for those times. By age 16 I had learned to park on a downhill in case the car wouldn't start and I had to roll it, and pop the clutch. My sister drove with a hammer in the car so she could get her car started (bad starter). And if the car had to be jump started with cables, we knew to keep driving and NOT turn it off.

Ah memories of asking your friends for a push to pop the clutch. That was synonymous with both Vdubs I owned.
