This is such nonsense unless there is more to the story. I love NJ for the jobs and being central to everything NYC, mountains, beach, etc (not that I do any of that. Why the F am I here?) but the laws, taxes and people are ridiculous.

Anyone see the guy from NY who introduced a bill to ban machetes? Somebody been watching too many Danny Trejo movies. Whats next, swords? You can pry my Scottish Claymore out of my cold dead hands! They may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM! But seriously, switchblades are already banned, so this bozo in Queens, Avella, wants to ban machetes, because there have been a few attacks with them. Moving out of the NE seems like a better idea every day.

So here is the "more info". Why aren't they charging him for drugs? Doesn't make sense to me. I hate drugs and what they do to the weak people that use them but putting people in jail for an old gun or drugs doesn't help/improve society at all. The "War" on drugs, making money and creating crime while solving nothing. Prohibition never solved anything, just pushes it underground.

You want to legalize everything that would be awesome until you actually have to deal with the people on the legal drugs.

On the issue of the antique gun, the following would make sense:
So the guy had an unloaded antique gun, which he handed over right away, told cops they were there to buy drugs, but had nothing on his person in the form of drugs or paraphenalia?
They got the other guy on possession (wondering myself why a 72 yr old and a 21 yr old are driving around looking for drugs together, sounds like breaking bad part 2). What a bizarre story.
I guess they cant get gramps on the drug charge, so get him on on the antique gun "felony"? End justifies the means?

Never said it would be over the counter? Is Oxy and alcohol "as accessible as aspirin"? Nice straw man. I will put clean controlled substances not being sold by gangs up against your street crime any day. The users will use just as they do today the difference is the crime that facilitates selling drugs and the money used to combat it would be orders of magnitude less. Do you think the "war on drugs" is working?

Herp derp. My guns not working right. Better try it out on the babysitter.
Irresponsible with a firearm? Come to fuckface Florida...where being a jackass and killing pregnant woman accidentally comes with no repercussions. Because Second Amendment and Freedom.

You want them to be legal and regulated. Now you are catching on. Who will be in charge of the regulation?
