1876 so i can carry this in newark then? Legally. ====================== Uhmm NO. Thank God Im moving to Chicago everyone is packing out there. ================================================ You will need a concealed license permit to pack in IL, which I hear is easy to get now, unless you are not a US citizen, are crazy, addicted to illegal drugs, a convicted felon, and so forth.

if its a 300 yr old pistol that doesn't fire (my assumption, could be wrong), ====================================== I would assume that it would fire as there is not much for moving parts, It looks to be in very good condition and to have been properly stored (other then having it in the glove box). How long would it take you to load that thing and fire it at someone?

Not sure, probably only a minute or two. Add the appropriate amount of black powder, shove in the wad/cloth, tamp, drop the ball/bullet in and tamp again. Cock the hammer, pull trigger, then a second or so later you have fired and are ready to repeat the whole process.
I'll have to try it some day. You can get reproduction black powder guns cheap
