Talked too much on the telephone and missed my mid-morning fruit smoothie. Now, I'm both energy deprived and famished.

I'm really in a quandary. All my dog's spring coats are at the organic dry cleaners (solvents are environmentally and canine friendly). All I have left is one left here by my sister-in-law, which is a polyester blend. I'm not sure my conscience will allow me to put that "garment" on Taffy before our walk. The thought of anything but a natural fiber against his delicate fur frightens me. And sending him outdoors uncovered is unthinkable.

I hope you're covering his paws with something to protect them from all the salt that's on the ground.

But, honestly, I don't trust that some salt could not have splashed onto his delicate paws in some manner or another. So, I always do a thorough cleansing of the paws with a solution of water, distilled white vinegar (diluted to less than 4% acidity), and a few sprigs of imported lavender from the Provence. That way, I'm totally sure and can sleep at night.

I have acquaintances in the Trentino-Alto Adige Region of Italy who are vintners and owners of a local shop which deals exclusively in "aliment biologici". They are generous enough to provide me with an organic "mother" (exclusively from organic Pinot Bianco or Weißburgunder pomace) so that I may produce and bottle my own vinegars (sic). I wouldn't have it any other way.

Personally, I find it an honor to dote on the adorable pooch's needs. In my book, it never ventures into the territory of "toil".

A mixed breed of some sort. In my view, I see a preponderance of Shiba Inu with a dash of Border Terrier. But he has quite an aristocratic posture.

After some tumult with the braking mechanism on my OXO salad spinner, I finally completed washing of the mâche and dandelion greens for this evening's salad course. Surely, the good folk at OXO can devise a spinner worthy of the rigors of the kitchen. Otherwise, all is lost, my friends.

I never have issues with my salad spinner because I don't have salad spinner. I used to have one. It was plastic. I don't think it needed a brake. What kind of rpm's are you dealing with when your salads are spun?

I never have issues with my salad spinner because I don't have salad spinner. I used to have one. It was plastic. I don't think it needed a brake. What kind of rpm's are you dealing with when your salads are spun? All well made spinners (I own an OXO) now come equipped with a button (brake) which stops the drum rotation. Otherwise, salad would come flying out if you attempted to remove the top as the drum continued to spin. As for RPMs: You want a really brisk pace to remove as much water from your greens as possible. Wet salad is a disaster for dressing adhesion. When you can't read your favorite message board at work because its being trolled by a previously banned poster or troll. I hope you're not referring to me. As far as I can tell, most folks are appreciating my attempts at humor in this thread. How can you call my work here trolling? And no, I'm not a banned poster.
