Seems almost too good to be true that he'd want to stay with the team after only a week Yup. Probably just telling the reporters what the fans want to hear.

One look at that rotation and I'd want to be riding that train for awhile too!! Average 2 runs/game and your playing .500 ball Average 3 runs/game and your probably playing .600 ball

Thats 5 in a row.
Lagares, Tejada and Campbell with big two out RBI base hits. Another great start by Niese. Familia got me a little nervous in the 9th, but got through it. Not only has the offense gotten going, but that is 6 straight errorless games. Scoring some runs, playing good defense. Different world for this pitching staff.
Lets Go D-Backs.

As the stats show.... 1 out situational lefty out of the bullpen.
The Oakland A’s traded left-handed pitcher Eric O’Flaherty and cash considerations to the New York Mets for a player to be named later or cash, the club announced Tuesday evening.
O’Flaherty was designated for assignment on Saturday.
O’Flaherty was 1-2 with a 5.91 ERA and .312 opponents batting average in 25 relief appearances with the A’s. His opponents average included a .186 mark against left-handed hitters compared to .420 against right-handers.
O’Flaherty signed a two-year deal with Oakland following Tommy John surgery in 2013 and was 2-2 with a save and a 4.14 ERA in 46 games overall with the A’s. He has a 2.99 ERA in 419 career appearances.

O'Flaherty is having an off year this year. For his career he is about .200 against lefties and .276 against righties. Hopefully he returns to form and is more than just a 1 out guy for us.

Better than anything Alex Torres.. Yup. As long as O'Flaherty is better than Torres, its a win. Saw this earlier today and I found it amusing. Newsflash, Jayson. Right now you are losing it.

Hey Jason, the Mets have been hit hard by injuries too. Wright, Matz, Murphy, Cuddyer, Lagares.
It's going to be a tough pennant race. Nats are getting healthy fast and Strasburg is about a week away.
Mets need to beat the crap out of TB, Miami and Boston and all the other sub .500's they play.
What a difference a year can make when your farm system starts feeding the BEAST. Mats back soon and hopefully Wright and Cuddyer.

Will Wright automatically be hitting 3rd when he comes back?
That is going to really piss me off.

Every time the Nats look at the scoreboard these days the Mets are having a big inning each game. After awhile, that gets demoralizing. Cespedes and Duda with the big hits tonight. Working the pitchers deep into the count. Pitchers have been hitting the 100 pitch mark around the 6th inning. Once Wright gets back our roster will be lengthened even more.

O'Flaherty...not the most comforting debut. Great game beyond that last inning though, that could've been bad. DBacks are crushing the Nats right now, could be 2.0 up!

Just brutal 9th inning, but a win is a win. Glad they have a day off tomorrow -- give the bullpen some time to regroup after that one. First road sweep of the season. First time this season with 5+ runs in 4 straight. First place, still. Hopefully the D-back bullpen is better than ours tonight. Old friend Oliver Perez is on the hill for Arizona right now, not very comforting.

DeGrom pitching tonight in front of family and friends. Last outing was below average for him.
Hope he comes out and gets back to his normal dominance and the "O" keeps pounding the ball.
