Not to mention how much Flores has helped us since and the fact that we still have Wheeler Yup, what would really make it a home run would be if we could re-sign Cespedes. Even if we don't, the half season we are getting now from him is probably worth more than the 1 1/2 seasons we would have gotten from Gomez. Factor in Wheeler and Flores and it just shows that sometimes that best deals are the ones you don't make.

I love the fact that Boras looks like the idiot saying Gomez knee not the problem.... it was the Mets being cheap! Then the Mets get a better player for less talent (2 avg. prospects) while getting to keep 2 major league players under control for 3 more years. Sandy can be a hard ass but he knows baseball. Yeonis represented by Roc Nation who got Cano a huge contract in the middle of the frozen Arctic tundra playing before 12,000 eskimos!! I hope Cespedes realizes winning in NY, being close to Jay Z and Beyonce, with great young pitching beats playing antwhere else!! I'm sure the Yanks will try and sign him... Wilpon would never let them sign him. He'll be a Met.... what other teams could or would have the budget to sign him?

Not going to get in the MVP debate, but is there a better player in the major leagues over the last 6 weeks than Yoenis Cespedes.

I'm going to bed and I'm calling it! Wild pitch... 3-1 Mets Gotta admit I was thinking what the fuck are you doing when you "called it" in the 8th last night, but Yoenis had your back. Its all good. 8 1/2 game lead with 21 to play.

Bad week getting worse for the Nats. Drew Storen out for the season. Actually, the way he has been pitching, this might help them.

Time to start keeping more of an eye on the Dodgers - 0.5 games ahead of us (assuming they win tonight) for home field advantage in the playoffs. 9.5 game lead in the division, magic number of 12, 81 wins (already more than last season) with 20 games left to play. Giddyup.

Giddyup. It would be HUGE for us to get that Home Field advantage in the Divisional round. Having LA fly cross country 2x would be huge if we need a game 7. I've heard it's much toughr flying west to East than East to West. Lose 3 hours as compared to gaining 3 hours.
