I'll withhold my "devastation" until 1 pm tomorrow. Let's see how it plays out. If we get Bruce for Wheeler straight up and he's under contract through 2017 I'll be good with that.

I like Bruce but then do we just send Conforto back down?
We still dont have enough offense, bullpen is imploding, Bartolo can't pitch anymore. This looks like the beginning of the end.
Untill the Wilpons are murdered I wouldnt espect much from this excuse of a franchise.

Untill the Wilpons are murdered I wouldnt espect much from this excuse of a franchise. I am not thrilled with Bruce. He is another potential high strikeout, low average guy who may lose some of his power in Citi Field. I understand the need to take a chance on a guy -- and if this deal goes through, I will hope for the best. Conforto is likely to go down either upon signing of Bruce or activating Cuddyer. Can't wait for the game tonight -- need to erase the bad taste of yesterday as quickly as possible. Anyone else question why TC would send Familia back out there for the last out after an hours delay which completely fucks with a relievers routine?

I can understand the the Wilpon comment... but out of our next 60 games, 43 are against sub .500 teams while the Nats only have 19. If we get another bat, get Wright back, get Matz back and we get on a roll we'll be vying for the Div. or WC

Conforto's been doing great considering the situation - don't really agree with the way this team has been handling (non-pitching) prospects of late

Hearing they are in on Cespedis talks -- who I think is a better fit than Bruce, but only a two month rental.

Frustrating, TSTL
Sandy really boxed himself into a corner. Teams know he's desperate to get ANY deal done... so he's lost leverage. I wouldn't be surprised to see a deal with the Reds, Braves or even TB

Did I just see that we got Ceapedis? Anyone else hear that?

Yup, Cespedes for two minor leaguers is the current report. Excellent if true

I think I like this trade more. The Mets actually did good, in the most fucked up way possible, but good nonetheless.

Absolutely....With Wheeler coming back next year our pitching staff will be sick! Next year we may see some of the young kids making their way here like Herreira and Cecchini who is on a tare. Will Nimo be ready by next September? We'll see.

Wilpon private jet? Oh, wait, I forgot they're too cheap for that!
Amtrak for you Cepedes... Mets will cover the cost of the 7 train, however!
