Nigger. When will the cops be by to arrest me? If you're trying to prove the point of selective enforcement, it worked I always wondered why all those rap artists were never arrested for hate speech. It's because of selective enforcement? ....the more you know....

Nigger. When will the cops be by to arrest me? It's not the word itself, it's the context you used it in. If you go into a black neighborhood and say it, it's not protected speech. Similarly, if you go to the steps of a VFW hall while veterans are gathered inside and you were shouting screw the army, wish Hitler won, Vietnam was an atrocity and the US had no right to be there, etc., that would all fall under speech intended to incite a riot.

You mean, do the things liberal protestors used to do all the time and not get arrested for?

You are conflating the officer's right to stop Gray with Gray's right to go for a run. What gives rise to reasonable suspicion to justify a stop is not necessarily unlawful. Again, merely locking eyes with an officer and running is not unlawful--even if it would justify the stop. The stop was probably lawful although the article you linked illustrates some of the problems with the frisk and subsequent arrest. I never said he doesnt have a right to run. But if he runs, they have a right to stop him. And that is what they did. Not sure what we are arguing here. I am not going to get into the weeds about whether or not they had a right to search him after the stop. If you are dumb enough to run from cops and act suspiciously then you deserve to get frisked. And IMO running from cops qualifies as suspicious activity.

Gray's right to go for a run. This part makes me chuckle, and imagining Gray strapping on the Fitbit and going jogging. Ok, done. Continue

It's not legal for you to do so. It's called hate speech and speech intended to incite a riot. Not protected by the 1st Amendment. Because police officers (dirty ones) have never before created cover stories, intimated others to lie for them, falsified police reports or intimidated witnesses to not testify in cases before. All of a sudden 10 or 12 days later prior to the release of the autopsy report, a witness (someone who was arrested in a police van) turns up and says Gray tried to injure himself. If it smells fishy, it's probably gone bad. I work with police officers on almost a daily basis. I like them, we work together and frequently socialize together. The vast majority are great at their job and great people, but as was said earlier in this thread, there are always bad cops because there are always bad people ihn the world. Being "right" is part of the problem; understanding HAS to be more profound; you know this.

I wonder how many of the people burning things down and looting realize three of the six cops were black? I guess that takes the racism angle out of things?

I don't think the race of the police officers is as relevant as the race of the people targeted for brutality by the officers. So the black officer (with the most serious charges against him out of all the cops) targeted this kid for being black?
Are you listening to yourself?
Allow me to regale you with the race of the perpetrators of most every NYPD LOD in the last 30 years or so. Care to guess?
Should I draw a race based conclusion?
Nah. I'll just go to yet another funeral this week for yet another cop..killed by...guess...wait for it...wait for it....

Its just sad. Now Baltimore is set up for even more unrest once these officers walk.
Good luck proving any of those charges. Unless the autopsy shows that he was beaten with objects and had someones hands around his neck in that van then this is going to be a layup.
