So I have another job lined up that starts in two weeks. I pulled into my jobs parking lot and said screw it I'm quitting today and just drove away. It was a call center and fucking sucked so I gave no notice. Left the parking lot and went to go see Jurassic world we both my new found freedom.
Long story short my boss calls my emergency contact who is my wife. She freaks calls me ruining my Jurassic world viewing. And now km the duck for lying about going to work today and quitting my job. Duck being married overrated villainy.
Seriously though hampur other than being a selfish pig and trying to enjoy an early movie how am I such an inconsiderate as what?

You'll undoubtedly be listed as ineligible for rehire with the company you left which might impair future job opportunities. So probably not the best move, especially considering you dumped the job to go watch a movie with glaring plot holes.

There really shouldn't be a major issue with a guy who has already lined up a new job deciding to blow off his last day at work and go see a movie. But playing devils' advocate you probably could have handled it a little better to prevent your own future pain....Your wife got the call as the emergency contact and probably thought you were dead on the side of a road somewhere or abducted by aliens or something, and as was stated earlier, even if you're leaving a job you hate you don't really want to burn a bridge and leave in a bad way. Who knows, if this next gig doesn't work out and you're looking for another job they will want references and likely call your previous employers. So you don't want your old boss saying, "Oh, jdeacon? Yeah...totally unreliable doosh. He blew off work to go watch a move with significant plot holes and inconsistencies so he can't be trusted with making good decisions or showing any kind of commitment."

Ever walked into work on a Friday and had them ask for your computer and good luck? No notice? No severance? No such thing as loyalty anymore. Don't be a putz.
However, when people are concerned for your well-being... that's a douche move. Be a man, sack up, and tell them you're not taking their shit anymore and you can't stand one more minute of wasting your life working their shit ass job.
And then walk into the house, tell your old lady she can keep her thoughts to herself because you're a man and you don't have to listen to someone belittle and nag you.
