Cool! We're going to the AFC CG next Jamuary and the following year! Heck we'll probably go to the SB next year. Can't wait! Atta girl, that's the spirit. It's simple, Bowles can emulate the 09-10 teams if the QB can play at a mediocre level and not turn the ball over at the rate he has been doing. If we can have a middle of the pack offense and let the defense do it's thing, there's no reason we can't be successful this year. As usual with you, a simple debate about which roster was more talented comes down to some sort of Rex Ryan accolade. In a nutshell what you're saying is that if the 09-10 roster had less talent then Rex deserves all the credit, that's fair enough he does, never had a complaint with Rex's first two seasons here. He came into a vet laden roster and motivated them and it yielded results. However over time motivation wasn't enough, the picks he contributed to stunk, the players grew tired of his ways and he proved he could do nothing other then coach defense and be a motivational speaker. I think Bowles has the potential to be a more well rounded HC, he comes in to a talented roster as Rex did, he absolutely can achieve the same success in year 1 and 2. If you want me to say it I will, Rex deserves credit and I would never take the 09-10 success away from him, my problem with Rex is everything that transpired after. Better coach better roster. Afc championship this year and super bowl next year. Woohoo

How many of these coaches were in their first year as a head coach? We all like the change at HC but there is risk Bowles will take time to mature or fail altogether.

I wouldn't call it a "risk" so much as a historically proven pattern. Coaches get their experience at the Jets and then move on to coach and win elsewhere

The clock is already ticking on the O-line. It's been ages since we've had to worry about the 2 most important positions on the line, I don't know how much longer that's going to last. Correct, as much as everyone loves Nick and Brick, they're not getting any younger, and those as you know are the two key positions on the O-Line. Fun fact - Brick has never missed an offensive play in his 9 year career.

I know, Mac should be worried for his job with my natural GM acumen.

Who the hell knows if he'll be a better coach or a worse coach. We will see. I would never give anyone associated with this franchise the benefit of the doubt though. They need to prove it. With Idzik you had way to many homer fans praising his wonderful "plan". I knew he was an idiot the minute I heard him speak. Yet, people were still defending him after his horrendous 2nd draft. I'm not going to blindly follow and put my faith in jets decision makers. THey have proven time and again to be incompetent boobs. Hopefully they can prove me wrong this time, but I ain't holding my breath. But, I like what I've seen so far out of Bowles. I like Maccaggan, but wish he took that West Virginia WR with that first pick. I like most of the other moves he's made though.

He's the Jets new coach so of course he will be better than whoever they just got rid of. In truth - IMO - he is Rex 2.0 and the main difference will be the interface between him and the fans, not the players.

Yeah, just like Herm was better than f*cko, and mangini was just what we needed by lax, players coach herm (who did get us to the playoffs 3 out of 5 years), and rex was better than stalin mangini, and now bowles is better than boisterous rex. And idzik was better than tanny. HAHAHA. Idzik better than someone. That made me laugh. But many fans actually believed in idzik and his great plan. Not me and not for one second. Better to laugh than cry I guess. Maybe we can make an un-holy frankenstein coach and GM out of all of our past coaches and gms. Wait, scratch that, that would be a DISASTER of EPIC PROPORTIONS. We need an un-holy frankenstein of other teams coaches and gms, not one jet would be put in the mix (ok, maybe weeb and parcells, but that's it). Although, a little sprinkle of herm's press conferences would be good and some of rex's too.
