Trying too hard or not, it's a legitimate stance, one I have brought up previously as well. For every elite QB in the NFL that came in and started immediately(Manning, Luck) there is a counterpart(Brees, Rodgers, Brady) that sat for an extended time to start their career. I have no idea if Geno would be any better off if he had only played a few mop up snaps up to this point, but there is a real argument that can be made that is the best way to develop a QB. I don't think anybody is seriously arguing that Geno should have gone from WVU to star NFL QB. I think most would agree that unless you have a Manning or Luck it's better to plan to develop the QB rather than shove him into the fire and expect performance. Petty should be sat and have the opportunity to observe and learn before getting tossed out onto the field as a starter. However, we have to play the Geno we have not the Geno we could have developed. I'm not confident that he turns the corner this year. Maybe we failed to develop him by throwing him out there right away or maybe he just doesn't have it. Maybe a little of both. Whatever factors produced the Geno we have has given us a guy who seems to crumble under pressure in the worst way.

Geno Smith is a TERRIBLE QB. There is really no denying this claim. He clearly fails the eye test and ranks at or near the bottom of starting NFL QBs in almost every statistical measure of quarterback play. I'm starting to get tired of apologists like Harrier defending Geno at every time. It's always on excuse after another - poor o-line, receivers, backs, coaches, waterboys, etc. How is it that the most important position on the field is exonerated from any and all blame? It's akin to saying Hitler isn't to blame for the Holocaust because he didn't personally kill any concentration camp victims. A Hitler analogy. You fail every eye test with this stupid attempt at logic.

Hey you fuckin cuntface, at least call the whole Geno loving community out. I've said a million times that Geno is getting the same rope Sanchez had, if he doesn't get it done this year with a full deck then fair enough it's time to move on. No matter who plays the position for this team, as soon as they have a bad game or turn the ball over in practice, it's back to square one "they are not good enough" that's the problem with this fanbase, no fucker has time to develop. Is Petty goin to get the same treatment when he follows the same trajectory? Same rope as sanchez? We went back to back championships. And even sanchez got turned on. When in reality Geno has a equal if not better team this year then sanchez had during those runs. And sanchez was a rookie. He peaked to early sanchez and awful fucking coaching. But sanchez right out the gate could handle pressure and what i liked about him was he actually had a FUCKING BRAIN. Geno is fucking dumber then a box of rocks. He can't even lie right about missing meetings to go to movies using the time switch as an excuse. You think that was a mistake......no he's that fucking dumb. Worse he's conceited and dumb a toxic mixture. He will never improve he will never evolve he is to dumb. Just a wide eyed moron with a serious character flaw somehow still being allowed to throw balls to the other team and run out of his own endzone for the 2 points. Sanchez still gave good memories ones i will always cherish. Geno can go graze in the field with the other fucking cows. But you'll see soon enough. And I'll fucking be behind all of you with a bullhorn and mace.

Keep arguing the semantics or splitting hairs is not good for our health. Sanchez had a better o-line, running game and defense giving him the ball back in good situations, that is fact, Geno has had fuck all until this year and he will live or die by this year. Geno in my opinion is a more natural thrower, although I will not argue he is smarter than Sanchez or that he has a better overall football brain. As I've said, I'm done with Geno if he can't get it done this year, no excuses, he has to go out and prove the doubters wrong. I will say this Rags, another reason I'm supporting Geno is because what other option do we have? I've no interest in seeing noodle arm lead this team, I would love for Petty to be the guy goin forward but this year is to soon. There is a new season on the horizon and there's a good feel about this football team, I'd rather go in supporting the starting QB then write the season off already before a fuckin snap has been had. Self preservation on my part? Maybe so.

Anyhow Im not arguing and i will tell you this Sanchez by this fanbase gets overlooked for the absolute stellar play he had those first 2 seasons. I dont give a fuck about the rookie mistakes he was in year one and two and beat who on the road in the playoffs who do you remember who that hopped up little mexican firecracker beat on the road. Then 2 years of shit which the excuse you all make for geno was an awful team not him. But i will say sanchex also took steps back those years and had his confidence shattered. Thats a huge big thing when you play ball and some most never recover, which was when i started hating rex. Question is Geno as a rookie those first two years with the same team you honestly believe he could do the same thing. I call bullshit if you say yes. And i will call bullshit this year when you see no difference in his play. His flashes of brilliance are the same as a moron thinking straight for a few short minutes. Anyhow Geno and Sanchez arent even in the same fucking book. Geno is with no one he has yet to prove anything except that he can shine at the end of a defeated season when their is no pressure ob him to perform whatsoever. I hope the Media light a fucking nuke under his ass before the opening game put that sob on the flames and turn him fucking slowly. PRESSURE PRESSURE like a 2 year rookie who went to 2 championships and then was expected to go to a superbowl or gtfo. No time to ever really be a rookie. So please do not put geno in the same line with sanchez. end rant hopefully fitzpatrick or petty save me from the frustration

Now onto Sanchez, are you fuckin kiddin me? in 09-10 Sanchez had like 3 "good games" by QB standards, in fact I would say 3-5 good games all the time he was here. Other than the NE game, they won with him not because of him. He passed for 100 yards in SD and was a non factor, the offense as it always did under Rex struggled like fuck, they smashed the rock and asked little of Sanchez for most of his first two years. I've never seen a team run the fuck out of the ball as much as we did those first two years, he was carried in every sense of the word, a total fuckin passenger. Sanchez became Sanchez when asked to throw the football, 3 and out all the time and struggled to put up 180 yards on most outings. Sanchez was fuckin awful, if you asked him to fling the ball around as much as Geno has in first two years you would be looking at similar numbers. That oline, running game and defense where the staple of those playoff runs not the Mexican firecracker. And talk about being as dumb as a rock, you've only got to look at the worst play in franchise history to see Sanchez was a terrible decision maker.

Jets 28, New England 14. September 2010. Regular season. Stunning win for the Jets, who a week earlier looked completely inept against Baltimore. Sanchez: 21-of-30, 7.3 YPA, 3 TDs, zero turnovers.

Check the regular season stats from those years then get back to us. It was about pressure and the playoffs the patriots. Even then his regular season numbers look like any rookie but he came through in need to have it situations. Whatever the case he was is and will always be better then this piece of shit geno. As bad as he got. And dont enter a discussion already 2 days in fuckhead

If anything is dumb and annoying, it's you trying to make out like Mark Sanchez can play quarterback, what I'm saying is common knowledge. Why else is he backin Sam fuckin Brasford up in Philly.

No what im asking you is do you think geno in his first 2 years deals with high pressure moments as well as sanchez did as a rookie. You know what fuck it i dont feel like arguing lets see what happens this year when geno has all the tools and backup he needs. And for the record i called sanchez shit the minute i saw his confidence was broken, it was a very unpopular opinion and i caught shit for it every day. same with noodle arm except alot of people were in that camp. The last decent qb we had was a retired brett favre how fucking sad is that. Now lets end this and just wait

I think Geno could have nursed this team to the playoffs handin the ball off like Sanchez, do I think Geno could have played the playoffs out like Sanchez in pressure games, probably not from what I've seem thus far.
