And the fucking Senators played last night vs a tough Montreal team, and won, and you'd think its the Isles who played last night. Wow, this really looks shitty for the post season. This has the feel of last season madding lay frustrating. Mad Cappy on the prowl with his lineups. This team is still at least one year, more likely two years out from being a cup contender. At this point I would call this season a success if they win one playoff series. Agreed. But they have been pretty frustrating to watch recently. Nowhere near the same level of dominance and puck control that we saw early in the season. We are sloppy at the blue line and very little "puck luck" lately. Every turnover it seem results in a goal. I would really like to see more chip and chase and reliance on the forecheck. We have a great forecheck but don't seem to game plan towards that very much. Heading to the Coliseum with my father in law for the game tomorrow. Should be my last trip to the old barn. Hoping they have their legs under them tomorrow.

Griff is looking like more of a bust as the days go by considering where he was drafted. Guys like Hickey and Strait have no place playing regular minutes on a cup contending team.

Where's the guys parking in front of the net? Only saw the third last night, while I was dong other things, but in the rags game, Talbot left a ton of juicy rebounds right in front for a wide open net, and no one was there. What happened to the guys with balls to go to the dirty area of the ice?
KO looks rusty as shit, but that's to be expected. Put Kennedy on the top line with KO and JT. Put the kid line back together. Bailey - Neilsen - Kulemin. Call up Pullok, bench Strait

I agree with everything you have said and I am very optimistic about the future of this team. Just disappointed in the level of play over the last month. Even though they have managed to pull out a couple of unlikely wins, they really have not played a solid 60 minute game in a while. In addition to Hickey and Strait, I also think that DeHaan has taken a step back from last year. We really do need Griff to be ready to play next year - and Pulock would be a real nice addition to the lineup. But enough complaining, they have a great young nucleus, one of the best players int he game and Boychuk / Viz add some veteran leadership. Add a solid two goalie rotation and you have a team that should contend year in and year out. Most importantly, they have restored the franchise to respectability. No longer are we a lost franchise that no free agent would consider if they have options. Now, can we please get a new coach for next season, because nothing I have seen out of Cappy convinces me he is the guy to take them to the next level.

Agreed. Cappy just seems like a coach always stuck in neutral.

Agreed. Cappy just seems like a coach always stuck in neutral. Its the style of play that drives me crazy. We have one of the best forechecks in the league -- yet we always try to carry the puck into the zone. If the play is not there, dump it in and get on the forecheck. Pressure the defense, force mistakes and take advantage of those mistakes. Instead we always try to carry the puck in, stickhandle past two or three players which has led to too many turnovers at the blue line and odd man rushes the other way. Its the same story in our own zone, instead of getting the puck out of our zone, we try to convert from D to O too quickly, and fail to clear the zone. It happened last night on the 2nd Ottawa goal. We had an opportunity to clear the zone, but didn't, got stuck in our own zone and Ottawa converted for what proved to be the game winning goal. Turnovers at the blue line and inability to clear our zone has killed us over the last several weeks. Just need to vent a little. Still been a great season, and if we can play like we did in the first half, win a playoff series, and I will shut up and enjoy the rest of the season. Going to the next two games -- here at the Coliseum and in Chicago on Tuesday at the United Center. Going tonight with my father in law who will do nothing but bitch and complain about how bad they are if they don't play well. If they play another lousy game tonight, I am going to need more than a few beers to get through the game. And then Tuesday with a bunch of Hawks fans. For selfish reasons, I need these guys to play well tonight and Tuesday. End of rant -- I tend to rant a lot when I am with my in-laws. I wonder why that is?

Ugh!! No problem with them sitting Strome tonight -- give him a night off on the back to back. But Donovan for Viz. Is Viz hurt -- or just giving the old guy a night off?

BTW, I read that the isles had 22 shots on net in the second last night. Is that right? Also read they had 34 shots on the game. So they had 12 shots combined in the first and third? That's it? WTF is that shit?

Amazing how the penalty kill has been much better since they started pressuring whoever has the puck, instead of sitting back in the box formation. Haven't we been saying this for months?

Wow, pathetic. Every time the isles make a mistake, the pucks in the back of the net.
Good luck getting 3 past Price and two points tonight.
These guys are going to get smoked in the playoffs. If they make it.
