I don't recall hearing that. Wow. To hear today's media outlets, this only happens to the Jets.

saw the Staubach "Football Life" bio - Drew Pearson stated that Clint Longley already had his bags packed and sucker punched Staubach and ran out the door. Pearson stated that it was the only way Longley could get away with it 'cuz "you didn't want to mess with Staubach (Vietnam Vet)"

And Ik got scooped up by the bills. I liked him a lot and if he becomes a good football player I'll be really pissed.

To hear today's media outlets, this only happens to the Jets.i remeber i remember this incident. from what i remember staubach had his shirt over his head when longley whacked him. i never heard what it was all about. i also remember that longley had won a huge game for the cowgirls when he came in and threw for ungodly amount in the fourth qtr. i think the win was over the foreskins. but this isn't the first time a jets qb did or was involved in something really stupid. matt robinson broke his thumb fooling around in a hotel. obrien got in trouble at studio 54 with gastineau and basically had to sit his rookie season. and everyone remembers when todd threw serby into a locker.

here's what i take from all this. geno is simply not the on field leader of the jets. they've always had this problem except when namath was qb and this is a continuing problem. i don't think Ik would've left that room intact if he did thesame to brady or manning or wilson or luck. but geno is like just someone whose there as opposed to a critcal piece of the team. just my opinion.

I've been reading a lot of these posts, saw the press conference and read what was reported this morning (albeit it was from Manish).
One thing about this doesn't make sense to me and I want to see what you guys say.
No argument that glass jaw Geno may be immature, aloof and thin skinned. But my question is this: has anyone ever seen (during a game, practice or interview) anything from glass jaw Geno that would be considered "aggressive"? Personally, I don't think I've ever heard/seen/read any reports of him yelling at teammates (or opponents for that matter) or getting into someone's face.
Be curious to know if someone recalls it ever happening.
Now, I'm not saying he didn't yell at IK and put his hand/finger in his face. Fact is I don't know. But, I have a different theory as to why it may have happened (if he did) based on what I've observed about is personality/demeanor the last 2 + years. And no, I'm not a glass jaw Geno "apologist".
Note: What the hell is with the automatic insert of "glass jaw" in front of his name? I didn't put that in. That's fn lame.

What's your theory? My theory on this (for what it's worth): glass jaw glass jaw Geno bailed on IK's camp because his friend died. Based on his past history, he probably didn't communicate with IK well (if at all) about this. Instead of saying "No worries, sorry for your loss", IK may have been a d*$# about it to glass jaw glass jaw Geno demanding his money back for being "showed up". glass jaw glass jaw Geno being the aloof, immature and thin skinned kid probably ignored IK because of him being "callous" as to why (death of a friend) he didn't make it. IK has probably been riding him and breaking his balls about it since camp started, talking shit and badmouthing glass jaw glass jaw Geno who he (and probably others on the team) doesn't respect. glass jaw glass jaw Geno, who strikes me as non-confrontational, probably got to the point where he said "F this dude" and began to ignore him. Could he have just paid him.....of course. But I can think of times in my life when people became such a pain in the a@@ about something that you finally go "F you" and tune them out and not do what they want you to do. I think (again just my opinion) that IK started up again with the chatter in the locker room on Tuesday and glass jaw glass jaw Geno finally had enough, got in his face, told him to back off and shut the F up, put his hand in his face and IK popped him. Again, speculation. But this would explain comments of about how "both were at fault' and still jive with what types of personalities these 2 guys seem to have.
